On October 15, information from Hung Dien commune, Tay Ninh said that the flood continued to develop complicatedly, threatening a number of dike lines in the commune.

In the morning of the same day, a 500m long dike covering about 200 hectares of rice inside was breached, allowing floodwater to flow in, causing a risk of inundation.

Song Trang Border Guard Station (Tay Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command) and Company 8 (Region 4 Defense Command, Tay Ninh Provincial Military Command) quickly mobilized soldiers and officers to the scene to fix the problem and reinforce the dike to help people in time.

On the same day, information from the Tay Ninh Province Hydrometeorological Station said that the water level in the Dong Thap Muoi area continued to rise due to water inflow and local rain. The flooding situation will continue to be complicated during the upcoming high tides at the end of August and the beginning of September of the lunar calendar.

The Hydrometeorological Station continues to issue a level 2 disaster risk warning due to flooding.

A report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province said that in Tan Hung commune, the area of rice flooded from half the plant to the flower is 15 hectares, currently "running for harvest".

In addition, 2.6 hectares of 2-year-old durian, 2 hectares of 4-year-old coconut, and 18 hectares of watermelon that were about to be harvested were also flooded due to the dike incident.

In Vinh Chau and Hung Dien communes, some sections of the dike have overflowed. Currently, people and authorities have temporarily reinforced them. If the flood water rises another 20cm, it will continue to overflow.

Khanh Hung, Vinh Hung, and Tuyen Binh communes have more than 700 hectares of rice in the ripening and flowering stages under threat. People have had to continuously reinforce dikes in many key areas.

The People's Committee of Tay Ninh province has organized inspections and examined the actual situation at many key dike points, and at the same time requested localities to continue to closely monitor and promptly support people in measures to reinforce dikes and protect production areas.
