This is a new service route to enhance trade connectivity between Vietnam and partners in the South Asia and Southeast Asia regions, especially Thailand and India.
The first vessel INTERASIA ELEVATE with a capacity of 1,500 TEU was successfully loaded and unloaded. |
VTI route has the following routes: Laem Chabang (Thailand) - TCIT (Vietnam) - Port Klang (Malaysia) - Nhava Sheva - Mundra (India) - Port Klang - TCIT. The route is operated on a fixed weekly schedule with a fleet of vessels with a capacity of 2,600 to 3,000 TEUs.
India and Thailand are two important trade partners of Vietnam in Asia. India plays an increasingly important role in the global supply chain and is a potential market for textiles, chemicals, agricultural products and industrial equipment. Thailand is currently Vietnam's largest trade partner in ASEAN, accounting for 24% of the bloc's import-export turnover, focusing on consumer goods, electronic components and processed agricultural products.
Choosing TCIT as the destination in Vietnam for the VTI service route not only demonstrates the increasingly important role of the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port cluster in the regional logistics network, but also contributes to diversifying international shipping routes at TCIT.

This is an important step to enhance the direct connectivity between Vietnam and dynamically developing economies, while creating more options for import-export businesses in the region, contributing to improving flexibility in supply chain operations, especially expanding connectivity within Asia, a new growth center in global trade.
