Long Thanh Airport’s runway No. 1 is 4 km long and 70 m wide, capable of handling the most modern aircraft today. This is one of the items in package 4.6, with a total value of more than 7,000 billion VND, including taxiways, connecting taxiways, rapid exit taxiways, aircraft parking areas and parking areas for ground service vehicles.

According to VTC News, in mid-May, in addition to the completed runway, many other items under package 4.6 such as aircraft parking lots and ground service vehicle parking lots are also being urgently deployed.

The runway lighting system is fully installed, using 100% LED technology imported from Europe, meeting the highest technical standards in the international aviation industry. Long Thanh Airport is also equipped with an ILS/DME precision landing guidance system, supporting aircraft to approach and land safely, even in bad weather conditions.

These two systems are combined and operate synchronously, helping to ensure that take-off and landing take place safely and with absolute precision in all weather conditions.

This result is thanks to the efforts of ACV, Long Thanh Project Management Board and the contractor consortium when mobilizing 1,025 personnel, 243 pieces of equipment and deploying 30 construction teams, completing the installation of flight safety equipment systems in accordance with international standards.

The drainage and technical tunnel project, which is over 22 km long, is being urgently constructed by contractors to ensure progress. This is one of the key infrastructure projects, playing an important role in the synchronous completion of the entire project. It is expected that this project will be completed by the end of June 2025, creating favorable conditions for the next construction phases.

Along with the runway, the construction of the Long Thanh airport passenger terminal (package 5.10) is also being accelerated. At the construction site, thousands of workers and machinery are working continuously in 3 shifts to ensure progress.

The items in this package include the construction of a passenger terminal, including a central terminal and three wings, with a structure of one ground floor and three floors, with a roof height of 45 m. The total floor area of ​​the terminal is approximately 376,451 m².

According to the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board, the passenger terminal, considered the "heart" of the Long Thanh Airport Project Phase 1, is the most important item. The terminal has completed the reinforced concrete structure of the underground part and floors, and is currently installing the steel structure, glass curtain wall and necessary equipment.

About 1 km from the passenger terminal, the Long Thanh Airport Air Traffic Control Tower, which started construction at the end of September 2023, is under urgent construction. The project is designed in the shape of a lotus bud with a total investment of 3,500 billion VND, with colors and architectural structures in harmony with the passenger terminal and surrounding structures.
