Early Tet on Bach Long Vi island district

On January 9 and 10, Squadron 11 (Command of Coast Guard Region 1) coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to organize activities with the theme "Spring on the border and islands - Tet with warm military-civilian affection" in Bach Long Vi island district (Hai Phong city).

The event took place on the occasion of preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024, while continuing to effectively implement the mass mobilization program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen". The program included very meaningful activities such as: Offering incense at the Martyrs' Memorial of Bach Long Vi district; visiting and wishing a Happy New Year to 15 agencies and armed forces units stationed on the island district; the "Green Banh Chung" contest combined with giving 30 gifts and 10 bicycles to families with preferential policies and students with difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties to study well. The program's Organizing Committee organized a "0 Dong Market" with many essential food items to support people in difficulty during Tet; propagandizing and disseminating the law to nearly 200 fishermen in the port area, presenting 500 national flags, 10 life jackets, distributing 1,000 leaflets on IUU and giving Tet gifts to fishermen here. The total value of the activities is over 120 million VND.

Mr. Bui Trung Tien, Secretary of Bach Long Vi District Party Committee, said that the activities in the program "Spring on the border and islands - Tet with warm military-civilian affection" of the 11th Naval Division in the locality have a very practical meaning, aiming to promptly encourage and share with the government and people, agencies and forces stationed on the outpost island district the warm feelings when Tet comes and Spring comes. Thereby, contributing to the Party Committee, government, army and people of Bach Long Vi island district to firmly maintain the sovereignty of the sea and islands, the frontline of the Fatherland.
