Warm Mid-Autumn Festival comes to over 1,600 children at Children's Hospital 1

On the afternoon of October 2, Children's Hospital 1 (Ho Chi Minh City) organized the "Mid-Autumn Festival of Love" program, bringing a warm and bustling festive atmosphere to over 1,600 inpatients. With many meaningful activities such as zero-dong booths, gift giving and art performances, the program has become a valuable spiritual medicine, helping the children forget the pain of illness.

This is the 8th year that Children's Hospital 1 has organized the Mid-Autumn Festival, an annual activity with profound humanitarian values. The program is organized with the desire to bring joy and warmth to children who do not have the conditions to return home to reunite with their families during the Tet holiday.

In his opening speech, Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang Minh, Director of Children's Hospital 1 (Ho Chi Minh City) said: "The program is a spiritual medicine to help children be more optimistic, happy and recover soon. In addition to constantly improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, the hospital always focuses on activities serving patients to increase experience and bring spiritual values, especially for children in difficult circumstances. This meaningful program is also a call for sharing from medical staff and the community for patients."

Attending the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Tri Thuc expressed his surprise and deep impression of the program's strong attraction to children. "This is the first time I have felt the Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere from morning to night at Children's Hospital 1. I would like to thank all the leaders, doctors and nurses for creating a truly warm, complete and loving Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere," said Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Tri Thuc.

The Deputy Minister also wished the children a speedy recovery so they can soon return to their families, continue going to school and become the future generation to build the country.

The atmosphere of the festival not only brought joy to the children but also warmed the hearts of their parents. Many zero-dong booths were set up, where each child received a coupon to exchange for five of their favorite gifts. Ms. Nguyen Anh Dao (residing in Cu Chi commune, Ho Chi Minh City) emotionally shared: "I am very happy that the organizers remembered the children in the hospital who could not go home. Seeing my child happier and more excited when receiving gifts, I am also happy."

Sharing the same sentiment, Ms. Luu Thi Phuong (from An Giang) whose child is in the Gastroenterology Department emotionally shared: "This Mid-Autumn Festival, my child is still in the hospital and cannot go home yet, but I feel very happy that the hospital organized a comfortable play for the children. I thank the organizers and the benefactors for organizing a Mid-Autumn Festival for the children to enjoy."

The zero-dong booths with many meaningful gifts are the hearts of philanthropists sent to sick children on the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Mr. Nguyen Van Lam, whose child has been treated for dengue fever for 5 days at the hospital, said: “Thanks to the hospital and the generous donors, my child was able to have a joyful and bustling Mid-Autumn Festival even though he could not go home. Through this festival, I hope all the children will recover quickly and be able to go home with their families.”

Earlier in the morning, the Hospital also organized a lantern design contest with the enthusiastic participation of all medical staff.
