Thai Nguyen directed to inspect the illegal leveling, construction and road opening in Bang Thanh.

Regarding the case of Ngoc Linh Limited Liability Company illegally leveling, constructing, and opening roads in Bang Thanh commune as reported by Nhan Dan Newspaper, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province has directed the Provincial Inspectorate to take action.

After reviewing the report of the People's Committee of Bang Thanh commune sent to the Provincial People's Committee on October 29, on the same day, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province Pham Hoang Son gave specific instructions.

Accordingly, the Provincial Inspectorate is assigned to organize an inspection of the compliance with legal regulations of Ngoc Linh Limited Liability Company in implementing the Investment project to build a project to exploit and process lead-zinc ore in the Phia Dam-Khuoi Man area, Bang Thanh commune according to regulations.

During the implementation process, if signs of crime are detected, transfer to the investigation agency according to regulations.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province also requested the People's Committee of Bang Thanh commune to strictly manage activities related to the project of Ngoc Linh Limited Liability Company in the area; take timely measures to prevent or report, recommend competent authorities to strictly handle violations according to regulations, and not let violations recur.

Previously, as reported by Nhan Dan Newspaper, since April 2025, Ngoc Linh Limited Liability Company has arbitrarily leveled, built, and opened roads through many forest areas without completing procedures to convert land and forest use purposes, and without an environmental impact assessment report approved by competent authorities...

Since the end of August 2025, after discovering and inspecting, the People's Committee of Bang Thanh commune has requested the company to immediately stop leveling, building, and opening roads. However, the company ignored this instruction and continued to illegally level, build, and open roads on an area of ​​up to more than 3.3 hectares.

It is known that Ngoc Linh Limited Liability Company has implemented a number of projects in the former Bac Kan province (now the northern communes of Thai Nguyen province) such as: Lead and zinc electrolysis plant with a capacity of 30,000 tons/year; Ba Bo lead-zinc mining project.

However, the Company's projects have many problems and are slow to operate.
