Joint exercise to prevent illegal entry and exit

On the afternoon of October 28, the Border Guard Command of Lao Cai province (Vietnam) and the Hong Ha Border Management Team (China) organized a drill to prevent and combat illegal entry and exit activities with the theme "Joint Shield No. 1 - Red River 2025".

This exercise is built on the experience of the joint Vietnam-China counter-terrorism exercises "Red River 1-2015" and "Red River 2-2016", which were successfully carried out by both sides.

The content of the exercise "Joint Shield No. 1 - Red River 2025" aims to inspect suspicious vehicles, jointly patrol and enforce border blockades, inspect the area of ​​travel, and capture violators; focusing on quickly and smoothly operating the cross-border law enforcement cooperation mechanism; and synthesizing and applying professional measures to improve the effectiveness of border management cooperation.

To command and operate the exercise, the two sides established a Joint Exercise Command and established a forward command post for each side.

During the exercise, many hypothetical situations were set up, including subjects colluding and organizing illegal entry and exit activities across the border. After receiving the information, the functional forces of both sides immediately initiated a mechanism for cross-border law enforcement cooperation; organized forces and means to successfully capture the subjects.

The exercise was successful, fully demonstrating the determination and solid capacity in suppressing cross-border crimes; jointly protecting regional security and stability, while creating an effective deterrent against cross-border criminals, creating a stable environment to promote the development strategy between the two countries.

Speaking at the drill, comrade Ngo Hanh Phuc, Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: The joint drill is an activity of important political , foreign affairs and defense significance, vividly demonstrating the concretization of common perceptions reached between the leaders of the two Parties, States, and armies of the two countries in general, and Lao Cai province and Yunnan province in particular, in strengthening the comprehensive friendly and cooperative relationship.

The drills were carried out closely and realistically, demonstrating the level, bravery, high sense of responsibility, ability to coordinate operations, and quickly and flexibly handle situations; respecting the independence and sovereignty of each country.

Lao Cai provincial leaders presented flowers to congratulate the forces participating in the exercise.

This result shows that the solidarity, trust, and friendly cooperation between the Border Guard forces of the two sides are increasingly consolidated and developed. The success of today's exercise is an important step forward in the coordination between the border protection and border control forces, while contributing to enhancing mutual understanding and trust, consolidating the foundation of peace, stability and development.
