Regarding the implementation of urgent disaster resettlement projects in Dien Bien in recent times, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dien Bien province said: In 2024, Dien Bien province will be allocated 200 billion VND from the central budget reserve fund to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 and floods (according to Decision No. 1660/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister).

The Provincial People's Committee has allocated detailed capital for 18 projects, including 3 projects to stabilize the population for 74 households in Phin Ho commune (former Nam Po district) and Muong Pon commune (former Dien Bien district) with a total investment of more than 22 billion VND. Up to now, all 3 projects have been completed; 13 other projects are under construction, 2 irrigation projects are appraising economic -technical reports. Dien Bien province has disbursed 41.8 billion VND, reaching 20.9% of the plan.

In 2025, due to the impact of heavy rains and floods, Dien Bien arranged stable housing for 244 households in 7 residential areas in the communes of Xa Dung, Tia Dinh, Muong Luan, Na Son... using the central reserve fund and support from localities and enterprises.

Currently, households have basically stabilized their housing; resettlement areas are completing essential infrastructure such as electricity and water.

With a total of 790 households directly affected by natural disasters, currently facing many difficulties due to loss of production land and being located in areas at risk of landslides, natural disasters... needing to be relocated and arranged to stabilize their lives, Dien Bien province has proposed that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment pay attention to allocating capital for Dien Bien to support people to stabilize their lives.

Along with that, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province has proposed that the Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment soon allocate about 775 billion VND to implement urgent residential resettlement projects in the communes of Na Son, Muong Luan, Thanh Nua, Quang Lam, Muong Lan, Muong Phang, Muong Cha, Nua Ngam, Muong Toong and Sang Nhe.
