Timely support for people
Faced with the situation of prolonged rain and floods causing widespread inundation and many complicated developments, officers and soldiers of Brigade 680 (Navy Region 3) quickly arrived to support people in deeply flooded areas to overcome difficulties.
In Ha Nha commune, Da Nang city, many places had water levels of more than 3 meters deep; hundreds of households suffered heavy property damage. With the motto of "4 on-site", Brigade 680 mobilized specialized rescue boats, special vehicles and many cars of all kinds. Regardless of the danger, overcoming the rain and floods, the unit's working groups coordinated with local authorities to move dozens of households to safety, especially giving priority to the elderly, women and children.

Directly commanding the troops carrying out rescue work at the scene, Colonel Pham Van Toan, Brigade Commander of Brigade 680, said: “Ha Nha Commune is a sister unit of Brigade 680 and is also one of the most heavily flooded areas in this historic flood. As soon as receiving instructions from superiors, the Brigade immediately mobilized forces and vehicles to help the people. This practical support is the responsibility and also the sentiment of the Navy soldiers towards the people in the sister unit.”
Rescue vehicles of Brigade 680 continuously moved in the isolated area due to flood water to transport people, goods, supply food, drinking water and support medical care for people. At the same time, officers and soldiers also actively helped people move their properties, clean up their houses, contributing to stabilizing the situation after the flood.

It is known that up to now, units under the Naval Region 3 Command have mobilized over 200 officers and soldiers along with 7 rescue boats and 12 cars of various types to support people in flooded areas in Da Nang city and Hue city.
Ms. Tran Thu Huong in Thanh Nam residential group, Hoi An ward, Da Nang city shared: “We were completely passive because the flood water rose very quickly. I was very worried because my family had both elderly people and children. Fortunately, thanks to the help of the Navy, my family was supported with necessities and taken to a safe location.”
Pioneers in disaster prevention and control
In the context of the complicated developments of floods in the central provinces, especially the flood in Da Nang city which has exceeded the historical mark of 1964, the forces of the Naval Region 3 Command are persistently staying at their posts to support local people in coping with the floods. The soldiers of the Naval Region 3 are regularly present at heavily flooded areas including Phong Dien ward (Hue city); communes and wards: Ha Nha, Hoa Tien, Hoi An, Dien Ban (Da Nang city). With specialized motorboats, they have both approached and organized the evacuation of people from dangerous areas and transported food, drinking water and necessities to isolated areas to support people.
