Thai Nguyen allocates over 30 billion to implement poverty reduction projects and support production development.

According to the report of the Thai Nguyen Rural Development Department, the total budget allocated to implement projects to support production development in the agricultural sector and support production development and improve nutrition under the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021 - 2025 in the province for the period 2021 - 2024 is 30,489.0 million VND, of which the central budget is 26,513.0 million VND and the local budget is 3,976.0 million VND.

Accordingly, in 2022, 4,762.0 million VND was disbursed, in 2023 it was 12,225 million VND and in 2024 it was 13,502 million VND. As of the reporting time, the total number of projects supporting production development in the agricultural sector is 42 projects, of which 1 project was in 2022 and 40 projects were in 2023. It is expected that in 2024 there will be 25 - 30 projects, as of the reporting time, 2 projects have been approved.

Of which: 26 projects are in the livestock sector; 11 projects are in the crop sector; 1 project is linked to the value chain (waiting for approval by the appraisal council); 29 projects develop community production; 11 projects are in the task. The above projects have the participation of 1,609 households, including 753 poor households (accounting for 47.12%), 689 near-poor households (accounting for 43.36%); 155 households have just escaped poverty (accounting for 9.4%), and 12 other households.

Projects to support production development are specifically implemented such as: Fertilizer support project for organic tea production in 2023 in Ha Thuong commune (Dai Tu district); cow breeding project in 2023 in Thanh Cong and Tien Phong communes (Pho Yen city); project to support safe vegetable growing in winter 2023 in Tan Kim, Nha Long, Bao Ly, Dao Xa communes (Phu Binh district)...

Binh Minh Cooperative (Nang Hamlet, Nha Long Commune, Phu Binh District) is one of the units receiving funding support from the National Target Program on Poverty Reduction. In 2023, through the Phu Binh District Agricultural Service Center, Binh Minh Cooperative was supported with 40% of the total funding of 710 million VND to invest in greenhouses to develop a high-tech vegetable growing model.

"Thanks to the investment in building greenhouses, growing vegetables has become more convenient, not dependent on weather factors like when growing vegetables outdoors. Therefore, vegetables are grown all year round, not just seasonally as before, and the vegetable output has also increased during the year. In the recent period, all levels of the sector from the province to the locality in Thai Nguyen province have paid close attention to directing, guiding, inspecting and supervising the implementation of the project. In particular, localities have focused on disseminating the policies, mechanisms and support policies of the State, disseminating documents guiding and guiding the implementation of the project to the beneficiaries of the project. During the implementation of the projects, participating households are trained and supported with instructions on how to care for crops and livestock during the implementation process, and are provided with quality seeds, fertilizers, and animal feed.

In addition, in order for the projects to be implemented effectively, during the implementation process, capital sources have been integrated to support localities in promoting sustainable poverty reduction. At the same time, the quality of the staff working on poverty reduction has been improved; information and propaganda have been promoted in various forms to raise people's awareness of the importance of implementing production development projects to increase income and sustainably reduce poverty. Training and coaching to improve the capacity of building and organizing the implementation of production development projects for staff working on poverty reduction at the grassroots level.

Along with that, the locality has strengthened close direction, regularly urged the development of plans from the beginning of the year, allocated funds to ensure from the state budget and other legal sources, appraised and approved projects to organize timely project implementation.
