Thai Nguyen attracts investment projects to build UAV manufacturing factory

DNVN - The People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province has just approved the Project to attract investment projects to build factories to produce unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and develop low-altitude economy in the province.

Thai Nguyen has great potential to develop the UAV service ecosystem and low-altitude economic development. Potential areas include: Surveillance, search and rescue; delivery; meteorological information collection; aerial filming and photography; tourism promotion; 3D mapping; fertilizer and pesticide spraying in agriculture ; forest management and protection; traffic and infrastructure monitoring.

To attract investment projects to build factories to produce unmanned aerial vehicles and equipment and develop low-altitude economy in the province, according to the content of the Project, the province will focus on implementing a number of key tasks and solutions in the coming time.

Specifically, regarding investment attraction, the province will accelerate the completion of procedures for establishing and selecting investors to invest in building infrastructure for Yen Binh Concentrated Information Technology Park; promote calling large, capable and potential enterprises to invite and discuss the possibility of investing in UAV manufacturing plants in the province; preliminarily determine the production supply chain (components, materials, human resources, etc.) needed to establish a manufacturing plant, thereby expanding the attraction and calling for satellite enterprises to participate in the supply chain in the province; study and preliminarily evaluate current regulations and policies applicable to enterprises investing in UAV manufacturing plants; propose preferential mechanisms and policies to support investment attraction.

Regarding the establishment and development of the UAV ecosystem, the province will issue incentive and pilot mechanisms and policies to encourage investment in projects to research, produce, test UAV equipment and develop low-altitude economy. This will be carried out in accordance with the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws; survey and study the need to apply UAVs in production and business activities of enterprises and units in the area; survey and evaluate the potential of applying UAVs in industries and fields; encourage organizations, units and individuals to start up and participate in research, development and production of UAV equipment; research technological solutions to digitize and simplify processes and procedures related to the development, production and operation of UAV equipment; propose specific and pilot financial mechanisms to encourage units and enterprises to invest in research, production and testing of UAV equipment.

In addition, strengthen information and propaganda work on low-altitude economics in general and the benefits of applying UAV equipment in particular; organize training, education and research, integrate into training programs for students...

The implementation of the Project will contribute to concretizing policies according to Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo ; enhancing the development of science and technology, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province; at the same time, helping local enterprises in particular and Vietnamese enterprises in general access new scientific and technological solutions, apply science and technology to production and business activities to promote the synchronous digital transformation process on all three pillars.

The project will be implemented from 2025 to 2030 using central budget, local budget and capital combined with other programs and projects for science and technology tasks.
