Visiting and supporting the families of fishermen killed by foreign ships

On the afternoon of April 10, leaders of the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance visited, encouraged, and expressed condolences to the families of the Thanh Hoa fishermen who died.

Previously, according to information from local authorities, in the early morning of April 8, in Hai Phong waters, the Hosei Crown ship (Panama nationality) collided with a fishing boat with registration number TH-92686-TS of a household in Hai Binh ward, Nghi Son town.

The accident caused the fishing boat to sink, 12 fishermen fell into the sea, of which 4 fishermen died, including: Mr. Tran Van Hong (born in 1985), Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh (born in 1957), Mr. Bui Van Thanh (born in 1971) and Mr. Le Huu Von (born in 1960), all residing in Hai Binh ward, Nghi Son town. The remaining 8 fishermen were rescued and brought safely to shore.



On behalf of the working delegation, Mr. Tran Dinh Luan, Director of the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ) burned incense, shared the loss of the families whose relatives died, and encouraged relatives to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

Mr. Tran Dinh Luan also requested that local authorities and families coordinate with relevant agencies to work with the ship owner Hosei Crown to examine the cause and provide adequate support to the owner of the fishing boat TH-92686-TS and the families of the deceased fishermen to soon stabilize their lives.

On this occasion, the delegation presented support from the Vietnam Fisheries Humanitarian Fund to the families of the four deceased fishermen in the amount of 3 million VND/family.
