Vietnam investigates anti-dumping measures on wind power towers from China August 22, 2024: Ministry of Industry and Trade holds consultation session on anti-dumping investigation on wind power towers

According to the Department of Trade Defense, Ministry of Industry and Trade, on August 22, 2024, the Department of Trade Defense held a public consultation session on the investigation into the application of anti-dumping measures on wind power tower products originating from China.

The public consultation session is conducted in accordance with the provisions of Article 70 of the Law on Foreign Trade Management 2017 and Article 13 of Decree No. 10/2018/ND-CP detailing a number of articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management on trade defense measures to create opportunities for parties involved in the case to present their opinions, views and provide information related to the case.

The consultation session took place with the participation of 13 delegates representing the parties involved in the case, specifically: Department of Trade Defense - Investigation Agency; Domestic manufacturing enterprises; Foreign manufacturing and exporting enterprises; Importing enterprises; Authorized representatives of the parties involved in the AD18 case participated in the consultation session.

At the consultation, the Investigation Agency listened to the opinions of representatives of all relevant parties regarding the case. All opinions and views of relevant parties were compiled, considered and evaluated by the Investigation Agency in the final investigation conclusion of the case and ensured that the investigation was conducted fairly and transparently in accordance with the provisions of Vietnamese law and the WTO.

The Trade Defense Department has completed the public consultation minutes and sent them to relevant parties in the case.

Previously, on September 25, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 2494/QD-BCT on investigating and applying anti-dumping measures on some wind power tower products originating from China (case code: AD18).

On August 22, 2024, the Investigation Agency held a public consultation session with relevant parties to facilitate the parties to present their opinions and provide necessary information to the Investigation Agency. The consultation session was held in person and online with the participation of representatives of relevant parties in the case.

Next, the Trade Defense Department will complete the final investigation conclusion of the case. Based on the final investigation conclusion, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will issue an official decision on the case.
