Workers' Month 2025: There will be many practical and meaningful activities

Following the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, trade unions at all levels in the province will carry out many practical and meaningful activities during Workers' Month 2025, aiming to care for, inspire creativity and spread the culture of new-age workers.

Since early March 2025, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor has issued a plan to organize this year's Workers' Month with the theme: "Vietnamese workers pioneering the new era". Trade unions at all levels in the province will focus on implementing many activities closely following the theme of Workers' Month and the reality of each locality and unit.

One of the key activities is the program "Creative workers, confidently entering the new era", focusing on propaganda and mobilizing union members and workers to study and improve their qualifications and skills; practice professional and modern working style; develop integration skills; and at the same time promote the creative labor emulation movement. In particular, organizing the Creative Labor Festival in 2025, competitions of ideas, innovative technical solutions, and improving work efficiency among unions and workers.

Another meaningful activity is the program "Thank you to workers", which will coordinate with employers to organize many gratitude activities such as visiting, giving gifts, shopping vouchers; encouraging workers in difficult circumstances, having work accidents, suffering from serious illnesses, etc.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor, one of the innovations in the form of this year's Workers' Month is that trade unions at all levels advise, propose, and coordinate to organize for leaders of Party committees, authorities at the same level, and employers to contact and dialogue with union members and workers in accordance with actual conditions. Advise Party committees at the same level to organize the Forum "Party with Workers - Workers with the Party" before the Party Congress at the same level, to listen to and solve workers' problems; absorb and implement the Party's instructions.

Ms. Thuy said: After a period of active preparation, the launching ceremony of Workers' Month and response to the Month of Action on occupational safety and hygiene in 2025 will be held by the Provincial Federation of Labor on April 25 at Nhon Hoa Industrial Park (An Nhon Town). On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor will honor outstanding Union members and employees with effective initiatives in production and enterprise management. Along with that, there will be many other practical activities to care for Union members and employees.

Trade unions at all levels actively responded.

In the past, the grassroots trade unions in the province based on the targets of the Provincial Federation of Labor to develop plans, assign tasks and provide specific instructions to grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) to respond to Workers' Month. The Hoai Nhon Town Federation of Labor is one of the leading units in preparing for implementation, and will organize the Launching Ceremony of Workers' Month 2025 on the afternoon of April 22 at An Phat Investment Joint Stock Company - an enterprise with a large number of workers in the town.  

Mr. Tran Van Quyet, Chairman of Hoai Nhon Town Labor Federation, said: This is a peak period of caring for and encouraging union members and workers. The town Labor Federation has guided grassroots unions to proactively develop appropriate plans, ensuring effectiveness and practicality. The set target is for 80% of grassroots unions in the enterprise sector and 60% of grassroots unions in the administrative and public service sectors to organize at least one activity in response to Workers' Month. The town Labor Federation encourages grassroots unions to choose in-depth activities that closely follow this year's theme.

At the Provincial Economic Zone Trade Union, the atmosphere of responding to Workers' Month has been bustling since the beginning of April, with the group stage matches of the 2nd Traditional Men's Football Tournament, attracting the participation of many Enterprise Trade Unions. The launching ceremony of Workers' Month and the football award ceremony will be held by the Provincial Economic Zone Trade Union on May 3.

According to Chairman of the Provincial Economic Zone Trade Union Nguyen Duc Long, due to the characteristics of the grassroots trade unions at enterprises, activities in response to Workers' Month will be flexibly designed, suitable for actual conditions and production time but still ensuring requirements. During Workers' Month 2025, the Provincial Economic Zone Trade Union will coordinate with many enterprises to organize many practical care activities for workers, including programs for counseling on reproductive health, pre-marital health, supporting female workers in taking care of young children, etc.

“The Provincial Economic Zone Trade Union encourages grassroots trade unions at enterprises to organize at least one practical activity such as: Organizing skill competitions, upgrading workers' ranks; honoring workers with technical initiatives; recommending business owners to improve income and working conditions... Thereby, arousing the spirit of dedication, responsibility and professional pride of workers,” said Mr. Long.
