Establishment of an inspection team for the dissemination of films on cyberspace

On October 6, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 3546/QD-BVHTTDL on establishing an inspection team to inspect compliance with regulations on film dissemination activities on cyberspace.

According to the decision, Mr. Do Quoc Viet - Deputy Director of the Department of Cinema was assigned as Head of the inspection team, with members representing specialized units under the Ministry. The head of the team is responsible for assigning specific tasks to each member and organizing the implementation of inspection activities according to plan.

Members of the inspection team are responsible for performing assigned tasks, ensuring that the inspection is conducted in accordance with regulations, contributing to improving the effectiveness of state management of film dissemination activities on cyberspace.

Previously, on October 4, the Department of Cinema also issued a document requesting Tencent Holdings Limited and Image Future Investment (HK) Limited to temporarily suspend all film dissemination activities on cyberspace in Vietnam until they are recognized as qualified according to legal regulations.

The reason is that up to now, the Department has not received any registration documents from Tencent Holdings Limited, Image Future Investment (HK) Limited or the affiliates of these two companies according to the provisions of Vietnamese law (Law on Cinema and detailed decree).
