Thanh My launched an advanced new rural commune

Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Ngoc Tram, member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; along with representatives of leaders of provincial and local departments, branches and people of Thanh My commune.

Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Tram and Comrade Tran Hoang Nhat Nam, Deputy Directors of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tien Giang province, awarded the Certificate of recognition of the commune meeting advanced NTM standards and the symbolic plaque of donation of 500 million VND for welfare works to Thanh My commune.

Thanh My commune achieved the new rural standard in 2021, after nearly 4 years of striving, demonstrating the high determination of the entire political system, especially the timely leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches, and mass organizations of Tien Giang province, of the District Party Committee and People's Committee of Tan Phuoc district; the guidance and support of the district's departments, branches, branches, and mass organizations; along with the active and responsible participation of all classes of people in Thanh My commune, up to now, the commune has been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as achieving the advanced new rural commune standard in 2025.

This event is of great significance, marking a new step in socio -economic development of the commune; is the recognition of the province for the efforts and struggles of Thanh My commune in organizing and implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction; is a source of great encouragement and motivation for Thanh My commune to continue to strive and achieve even greater achievements in the coming time.

With the high political determination of the Party Committee, the drastic participation of the entire political system, and the high consensus among the people, the work of building advanced new rural areas in the commune has increasingly spread widely among the people and achieved many remarkable achievements.

The cultural, spiritual and material life of the people has been improved. The rate of communal roads that are maintained annually, ensuring they are bright - green - clean - beautiful and have the necessary items according to regulations has reached 100%.

Per capita income has been increasing continuously over the years, in 2025 it will be 76,116 million VND/person/year (5.44 times higher than in 2011, per capita income in 2011 was 13.98 million VND/person/year); the current multidimensional poverty rate of the commune is 0.71%, compared to 2011 (poor household rate was 44.53%) a decrease of 43.82%.

Typical advanced new rural construction models: "Model of plastic waste collection at the market and Bac Dong residential area" and "Plastic waste collection in schools"; model "Each member is a legal propagandist" and model "Thanh My Commune Lawyers Association participates in mediation at My Loc hamlet"; security camera model, mobilizing the installation of 22 security cameras to serve the work of ensuring security and order on roads in key areas and border areas; model "Producing jackfruit and pineapple with VietGAP certification and in an organic direction, associated with linking consumption and utilizing pineapple by-products as organic fertilizer" signed by the Provincial Agricultural Extension and Agricultural Services Center with farmers participating in the model, bringing economic and environmental efficiency, creating jobs for people in the commune.

Comrade Tran Hoang Phong, Chairman of Tan Phuoc District People's Committee, awarded prizes to collectives and individuals with good achievements in implementing and building Thanh My commune.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Tan Phuoc District People's Committee Tran Hoang Phong congratulated the achievements of the Party Committee, government and people of Thanh My commune. In the near future, Thanh My commune will be merged with Tan Hoa Dong commune and My Phuoc town to establish a new commune called Tan Phuoc 1 commune. Therefore, in order to continue to maintain and improve the achieved criteria, striving to become a model new-style rural commune for Tan Phuoc 1 commune in the future, the commune leaders need to study and focus on directing the following tasks: Continue to invest in infrastructure construction, upgrade and expand inter-hamlet roads, continue to concretize intra-field traffic to create favorable conditions for people to develop the economy.

Promote and mobilize enterprises, cooperatives, organizations and individuals that produce and trade agricultural products locally to register to participate in the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program to promote local product advantages.

Special attention must be paid to environmental protection in rural areas, especially in residential areas, concentrated market areas and canals; coordinate with departments, branches and commune organizations to mobilize people to classify waste at source, reuse agricultural waste in accordance with regulations on environmental hygiene and food safety; improve the environmental landscape, focus on developing bright - green - clean - beautiful models...

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Tien Giang province, Tan Phuoc district, and Thanh My commune awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing and building communes that meet advanced NTM standards.
