Industry experts have stated that most businesses in the city are changing their operating models according to digital transformation, applying technology to improve the quality of services provided to people and businesses. Applying the TikTok platform in tourism promotion also opens up new and effective market access channels for businesses. Comprehensive digital management from customer data management to automated marketing solutions has been focused on by tourism businesses.
Referring to digital transformation in the tourism industry, Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that developing digital transformation is an inevitable trend. Currently, the city has a lot of potential to develop tourism types such as MICE tourism (in addition to hotel and conference centers, there are also resorts and beaches), industrial tourism, tourism resource management, etc., so digital transformation is a top priority. The Department of Tourism will invest in a shared system. When there are tourism resources in that shared system, the units will deploy tourism communities and share data.

According to the Smart Tourism Development Project in Ho Chi Minh City for the period 2020-2025, with a vision to 2030, the city will focus on building a smart tourism system towards key goals such as: convenience for tourists, smart destinations, smart business ecosystem; proactively analyzing and forecasting needs, trends, and preferences to better plan development. To date, 366 city tourism resources have been updated on Google Earth and Google Map platforms. The products are also on e-commerce trading floors (shopee, traveloka)... for tourists and residents to learn and refer to.
