Inspector could not get a sample of the pipe's interior, so he found the owner of Long Chat restaurant to work with.

(Dan Tri) - Despite conducting an inspection, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety could not obtain samples of the cigarette butts because all the shops in the area reported that they were out of stock.

On May 22, a source from Dan Tri reporter said that the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety is contacting the owner of the Long Chat establishment, which sells famous "long xe pipe" in Tan Binh district, to invite him to work according to regulations, after conducting an on-site inspection earlier.

The reason is that this shop has closed. In addition, according to Ms. Pham Khanh Phong Lan, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety, the authorities were also unable to get samples of the pipe's core, as all shops in the area reported "out of stock".

Because the Long Chat facility could not obtain a sample of the pipe, the Food Safety Department will first conduct a review and inspection of other related products. As for whether or not the Long Chat facility violated any laws, we still have to wait for the final conclusion from the inspector.

With the complicated situation of food safety in recent times, the above agency is stepping up inspections, working on both Saturdays and Sundays, focusing on dairy products and functional foods.

Previously, on May 7, Food Safety Management Team No. 6 (in charge of Tan Binh, Tan Phu, Binh Tan districts) and related authorities inspected Long Chat restaurant on Hong Lac street, Tan Binh district, Ho Chi Minh City.

This action came after a clip of a restaurant advertising a 40m long, 5.8kg string of pipe intestines caused a stir on social media. Many chefs also posted posts calling on people to stop eating pipe intestines, citing safety reasons.

A few days later, the restaurant suddenly closed, the tables and chairs were removed, and a notice was posted stating that it had been facing a lot of false information, harassment, and a sharp decline in customers. Therefore, the restaurant decided to temporarily close pending official results from the authorities.

On May 15, the official fanpage of Long Chat restaurant posted an apology to customers for not carefully censoring the advertising content using "exaggerated measures" in the wrong place and at the wrong time about the pipe's heart.

Ms. Pham Khanh Phong Lan commented that it is possible that when the information about the incident is widely published in the media, the floating cigarette butt businesses will intentionally announce that they are "out of stock". Therefore, the authorities may return to conduct surprise inspections if they discover any countermeasures.
