Ho Chi Minh City Chairman Phan Van Mai said that all problems have solutions, the city has assigned departments and branches to review and reconsider the tax debt of Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden. He affirmed that the closure will not happen.
The above information was announced by the Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City on the sidelines of the City People's Council meeting this morning.
Specifically, Mr. Phan Van Mai said that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE) to review the Decision on land allocation and land lease for Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden.
The City People's Committee will lease any land that Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden uses for production and business purposes; the land used for public purposes will be recalculated appropriately and can be transferred without calculating land rent.
After adjusting the land lease decision, it will be transferred to the Tax Department to have a basis for recalculation.
Regarding the public's concern that Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden will close, the Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City confirmed that this is not the case.
“We should not worry in advance, do not make things complicated… Things will always happen and when they happen, there will be a way to resolve them,” said Mr. Phan Van Mai.
