Ponagar Tower - a famous cultural work in Bac Nha Trang ward has just been ranked as a special national monument.
On the evening of July 10, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province received the Certificate of ranking the Ponagar Tower as a special national relic. This is one of three special national relics (Ponagar Tower, Po Klong Garai Tower, Hoa Lai Tower) in the new Khanh Hoa province (after the merger of Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan ).

Ponagar Tower was built from about the 8th to the 13th century, is a unique ancient Cham architectural complex associated with the worship of Mother Goddess Thien YA Na, ranked as a national architectural and artistic relic in 1979.
This place not only preserves many historical values and unique sculptures, but is also the center of spiritual and cultural activities of the Cham - Vietnamese community. In 2012, the Ponagar Tower Festival was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage.
Through the ups and downs of history, the relic has received more and more attention for investment and methodical preservation, clearly promoting its role as a typical center of Mother Goddess worship not only in Khanh Hoa but also in the entire South Central region.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the event was an important milestone for the typical cultural values of the locality. This is also an opportunity for Khanh Hoa to promote its cultural advantages, contributing to sustainable tourism development, associated with preserving and spreading the traditional cultural identity of the province.
From July 1, Khanh Hoa merged with Ninh Thuan. The new province is named Khanh Hoa, with an area of 8,555 km2, a population of 2.2 million, and an administrative center in Nha Trang.
