According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Nguyen, Director of the Military Trade Promotion and Exhibition Center, General Staff, General Department of Defense Industry, the Fair under the National Trade Promotion Program will be held from November 20 to 23, 2025 under the direction of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, the MND and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Laos and related ministries and branches. This fair takes place on the occasion when the Party, State and people of the Lao ethnic groups are actively preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao PDR (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025).

At the Joint Exhibition Area at the Fair, outstanding images will be displayed to introduce the special traditional friendship and solidarity between the State, people and armies of Vietnam and Laos; introduce and promote the image of the Vietnam People's Army in building and developing the economy combined with national defense and defense diplomacy; display and promote the image, products and services of the Defense Industry (NDI), dual-use economy of enterprises of the General Department of Defense Industry; and display space to introduce Vietnamese culture.
The Fair Area is organized with 144 booths of 71 units and enterprises with over 1,000 products of units and enterprises within the framework of the exhibition fair belonging to industry groups (Food - Beverage, Garment, Mechanical Products, Finance - Banking, Telecommunications - Technology, Logistics...)
The military business sector has 26 units participating with 50 booths (accounting for 35.2% of businesses participating in the fair). Many booths have a scientific and modern design that attracts people to visit and trade such as Viettel Group, Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Saigon Newport Corporation, Army Corps 11, TECAPRO Company, Corporation 28, businesses under the General Department of Defense Industry, Military Region 7...
Vietnamese non-military enterprises have 64 booths with main products being OCOP products, textiles, household appliances, furniture, industrial machinery and equipment... Lao enterprises registered with 30 booths for dual-use defense economic products, garments, and consumer goods.
From November 20 to 23, there were 20 trade connections, directly in the field and online in cyberspace (an increase of 15 compared to the planned schedule). Some Vietnamese products are of interest to Lao enterprises and they want to open agents in Laos, such as agricultural products (Pia cake, green bean cake, processed seafood products...), industrial products (electric motorbikes, clean room equipment, paint and construction additives), consumer products... Within the framework of the Fair, the Bac Ninh Province Industrial Production Enterprises Association signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Vietnam Enterprises Association in Laos; Robot Investment Joint Stock Company signed a product distribution contract with Lao enterprises worth five hundred million VND.
Within the framework of the Fair, a Seminar on Investment and Trade Cooperation between enterprises of the two countries was also held, organized by the Department of Finance (Vietnam Ministry of National Defense) in coordination with the Department of Economics (Laos Ministry of National Defense), attracting the participation of more than 50 units and enterprises of Vietnam and Laos.
In general, Vietnamese units and enterprises participating in the Fair showed positivity and initiative in seeking business cooperation partners, expanding the market in Laos and achieving some initial results.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Nguyen affirmed: The Fair connecting trade and promoting products of Vietnamese and Lao enterprises in 2025 contributes to supporting enterprises to have more opportunities to exchange and expand trade relations and cooperation... During the organization process, the Organizing Committee closely coordinated with Vietnamese authorities in the country and Laos as well as Lao authorities to perform well the assigned tasks, ensure security, safety, and achieve the goals set by the Fair.
At the closing ceremony of the fair, 20 collectives and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing and participating in the Fair connecting trade and promoting products of Vietnamese - Lao enterprises in 2025 were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Minister of National Defense of Vietnam.
