According to information from the British Council, from March 29, the IELTS exam in Vietnam will switch completely to computer-based testing.
This change is made with the aim of providing a faster, more efficient and more convenient testing experience for candidates while maintaining the quality and global reliability of the IELTS test.
The British Council said that with the computer-based test, candidates will enjoy many advantages such as flexible test schedules. Candidates can register for the test just 1-2 days before the test and take the test on any day of the week.

In about 2 days, candidates will receive the results.
Candidates can retake any skill - Listening, Speaking, Reading, or Writing - to improve their score, saving time and money compared to retaking the entire test. One Skill Retake is only available for IELTS on computer.
The computer-based test is exactly the same as the paper-based test in all four skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing) of the test, ensuring fairness and international standards. The computer-based test is suitable for the popularity of current technology, creating a more professional testing environment.
Candidates who register for the paper-based IELTS test after 29 March will be contacted by the test centre to inform them of the alternative options. Candidates will be given the option of switching to the computer-based IELTS test for free; switching to a paper-based IELTS test date on or before 29 March for free; or receiving a full refund of the test fee.
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the world's most popular English language test for higher education and global migration. More than 12,500 organisations worldwide trust IELTS, includingeducation institutions, employers, governments and professional bodies. IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English.
