10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City: What items are prohibited from being brought into the exam room?

TPO - Carbon paper, correction pens, alcoholic beverages, weapons, explosives, documents, electronic devices, periodic table of chemical elements and solubility tables are prohibited items to bring into the exam room. That is the regulation of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City for candidates in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

Be on time, bring all documents

The 10th grade entrance exam will officially take place on June 6 and 7 with more than 76,000 candidates registered to take the exam.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, candidates need to be present at the testing location stated on the registration form at 9:30 a.m. on June 5 to check personal information and listen to the announcement of the testing regulations.

The Department requires candidates to bring all necessary documents such as photo identification card, citizen identification card or student card. If they have registered for priority or incentive programs, candidates must bring their birth certificate to verify information. If they discover any errors in their full name, date of birth or priority, candidates must immediately notify the exam supervisor for timely handling.

For each exam session, candidates must be present at the examination board at the specified time, follow the instructions of the examination board and the instructions of the invigilator. Candidates who arrive more than 15 minutes late after the exam start time signal will not be allowed to take the exam that session.

Prohibited items in the exam room

Regarding the items allowed in the exam room, candidates are only allowed to use common learning tools such as pens, rulers, compasses, calculators without word processing functions or memory cards. For the Geography subject, candidates are allowed to bring the Grade 9 atlas - Geography section, published by the Vietnam Education Publishing House.

In the exam room, candidates must sit at the correct registration number, fill in all information on the exam paper, scratch paper and exam questions. When receiving the exam questions, carefully check the number of pages and print quality. If there are any errors such as missing pages, blurred pages, torn pages, etc., they must immediately report to the invigilator within the first 5 minutes. During the exam, candidates must maintain order and must not exchange, copy or disturb others.

Candidates are only allowed to leave the exam room after 2/3 of the exam time and must submit their exam papers, test questions and scratch paper before leaving the exam room and exam area.

If a candidate must temporarily leave the examination room, the examination room supervisor must notify the examination supervisor to coordinate implementation. The candidate's exit from the examination room or examination area in case of emergency must be supervised by the police and the examination supervisor until the end of the examination session and is decided by the chairman of the examination council.

When the 10th grade exam is over, you must stop taking the test immediately and keep the test. When submitting the test, you must clearly write down the number of test papers submitted and sign the two test receipts; candidates who cannot complete the test must also submit the test papers.

Ho Chi Minh City organized the 10th grade entrance exam with 142 exam sites, including 132 test sites for the regular program and 10 test sites for the specialized program. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training mobilized more than 13,000 teachers as invigilators, along with more than 2,000 other personnel including staff, security guards, police... to ensure safety and order at the exam sites.
