Teacher exonerated after 9 years: Review of inspection conclusion after reaction of 8 former department leaders

TPO - Regarding the case of Mr. Nguyen Van Thuyet - who was exonerated after 9 years of being transferred to another school because of incorrect emulation rankings, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province has just directed the Provincial Inspectorate to re-examine the conclusion of the former Bac Lieu province on the case. This latest direction was given because after the conclusion was announced, 8 former leaders of the old Bac Lieu department filed a counter-complaint because they did not agree with the conclusion.

On November 10, according to a source from Tien Phong reporter , the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province has just directed the Provincial Inspectorate to re-examine and verify the procedures and conclusions of the Chairman of the People's Committee of the former Bac Lieu province. Regarding the conclusion of the accusation of Mr. Nguyen Van Thuyet - a former teacher of Bac Lieu Specialized High School with the Department of Education and Training (GD&DT) of the former Bac Lieu.

The People's Committee of Ca Mau province said that, regarding the incident and the above conclusion, the Department of Home Affairs coordinated with the Department of Education and Training to organize a public meeting to conclude the content of the complaint with the relevant people. However, after the announcement, there were some disagreements and petitions sent to the competent authorities. Therefore, it is necessary to review.

Previously, as Tien Phong reported, Mr. Nguyen Van Thuyet - a teacher at Bac Lieu Specialized High School, denounced to the provincial leaders that he was transferred to another school by the Department of Education and Training of Bac Lieu province in 2016, with the reason that the school evaluated him as having been classified as Average for two consecutive years.

Afterwards, the People's Committee of Bac Lieu Province (old) investigated and concluded that the classification of Mr. Thuyet was wrongly done by the school's leaders, so the Department of Education and Training's transfer of him to another job was also against the regulations. In addition, some other contents were also determined to be correct, or partially correct, in Mr. Thuyet's accusations. This complaint lasted for 9 years.

After Bac Lieu province merged with Ca Mau, the leaders of Ca Mau province inherited and assigned relevant departments to continue implementing the above conclusion. This includes clarifying responsibilities, taking disciplinary action against individuals and organizations involved in violations, and taking remedial measures.

On July 25, 2025, the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau organized the announcement of the inspection results and invited relevant individuals to listen. Among them were 8 former leaders of the Department of Education and Training of the former Bac Lieu province (including 3 former Department Directors, 5 former Deputy Directors of the Department) and 3 former leaders of Bac Lieu Specialized High School (including the Principal and 2 Deputy Principals) at the time of the violation.

However, many former department leaders did not agree with the conclusion that they were wrong, and some issues were only known after the above conclusion was announced, so they recommended that Ca Mau province review it.
