TPO - The leader of Binh Loi commune (HCMC) affirmed that the achievements of teacher Nguyen Tu Cuong are not only the result of talent and persistent training, but also a symbol of the spirit of "Vovinam - Human martial arts".

On the morning of November 10, the People's Committee of Binh Loi commune (HCMC) held a ceremony to commend and reward teacher Nguyen Tu Cuong, national Vovinam athlete, teacher of Binh Chanh Sports Gifted High School - who just won the Gold Medal at the 8th World Vovinam Championship - 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Thao - Vice Chairman of Binh Loi Commune People's Committee - emphasized that in the joyful atmosphere celebrating the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025), the locality is even more proud to honor an exemplary teacher who has brought glory to the country, to the school and to the beloved hometown of Binh Loi.

Ms. Thao informed that on November 4, at the 8th World Vovinam Championship held in Bali, Indonesia, teacher Nguyen Tu Cuong excellently won the Gold Medal, bringing great honor to Vietnamese Vovinam, to Ho Chi Minh City and especially to Binh Chanh Sports Gifted High School, where he is teaching and training generations of gifted students of the school.

Mr. Duong Hoai Bao - Principal of Binh Chanh Sports Gifted High School - acknowledged that Mr. Nguyen Tu Cuong is a very good coach in professional work, a teacher with a good foundation in physical education and pedagogy. On November 4, in Bali (Indonesia), athlete - teacher Nguyen Tu Cuong overcame many strong opponents to win the Gold Medal at the 8th World Vovinam Championship, opening a successful start for the Vietnamese Vovinam team.

Teacher Nguyen Tu Cuong (born in 1999) has an impressive record of achievements in his sports career: Gold Medal at the National Championship for many years, Silver Medal at the 32nd SEA Games, Gold Medal at the 2023 World Vovinam Championship, Gold Medal at the 2024 Asian Vovinam Championship. The elite athlete also received a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister in 2024.
