“When you put your feet on the platform, you guys quickly kick your feet, lock your feet early, and straighten your legs!”, At 5:30 a.m., on the training ground of the National Military Training Center 4, the sound of commands and footsteps of teachers and students of the Vietnam Women's Peacekeeping Unit resounded. Taking on the task of training teacher of the Unit since the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, for more than half a year, Captain Do Hai Nam has been both a teacher and a close, familiar younger brother, friend, and older brother to the female soldiers, officers, and teachers of the Vietnam Women's Peacekeeping Unit.

Every day, comrade Nam and the cadres and teachers accompany the female soldiers from early morning until late afternoon, correcting their facial expressions and postures so that when the whole group walks on the parade route, they are always uniform, beautiful, and unified, demonstrating national pride and Vietnamese strength.

Captain Do Hai Nam guides the command movements in the training session for the parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.

“I started working as a parade instructor on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory, when I was a lecturer at the Department of Troop Regulations, General Military Faculty, Army Officer School 1. At that time, my superiors assigned me to be an instructor in the all-army parade training class, then a teacher for 4 groups led by the 12th Corps. In mid-2024, I was transferred to work at Division 395, and the commanders at all levels continued to assign me to accompany the Vietnam Women's Peacekeeping Group,” said Captain Do Hai Nam.

Having trained both male and female units, according to Captain Do Hai Nam, to complete the task, the training officer must always be exemplary, be the one to maintain discipline, seriousness, and concentration so that the movements are correct, even, and beautiful. Because when performing the command movements in groups, all soldiers must perform in unison, no one is allowed to deviate from the line, or be slow, team spirit and close coordination are always put first.

“I actively researched documents, developed training plans, actively practiced to master the content and methods, and at the same time did a good job of preparing for training. During training sessions, I always maintained and guided the training groups according to the program and plan of the Organizing Committee; regularly monitored and grasped the quality of each individual, each row, and each group to take timely corrective measures,” Captain Do Hai Nam shared.

Captain Do Hai Nam took a souvenir photo with training officers of the Honor Guard of the Chinese People's Liberation Army at the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

However, the training instructor not only trains the movements, but also is a companion, uniting and sharing with officers, employees and soldiers to overcome all difficulties and complete the mission.

Having had the honor of participating in the formation of the cadets of the Army Officer School 1 marching in the 70th Anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 / August 19, 2015) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 / September 2, 2015), Captain Do Hai Nam fully understands the hardships of training in the summer weather, with temperatures reaching 38 - 40 degrees Celsius, and the training intensity is also very high. Many exercises seem simple but challenge the perseverance and endurance of the soldiers, such as the leg-raising exercise, which requires soldiers to keep their legs high continuously.

“For female training, I, along with the management staff and teachers, determined to maintain strict discipline but also understand and share the difficulties and hardships of the women, adjust training time to ensure health, choose positions under the shade of trees, and prevent sunstroke and heatstroke,” said Captain Do Hai Nam.

Thanks to the attention and flexible adjustments of the training staff and teachers, the female soldiers in the Vietnam Women's Peacekeeping Unit have had more motivation to complete their tasks well in harsh weather conditions, with a large workload and high demands. Sharing about her teacher, Lieutenant Vu Thi Ha Trang, Assistant of the Logistics and Technical Department (Military Hospital 7, Logistics and Technical Department of Military Region 3) said: "Teacher Nam is very strict and has high requirements during the training process. However, he also sympathizes with the hardships and encourages us to complete our tasks well."

Captain Do Hai Nam received a Gold Medal at the 2022 Army Sniper Competition.

With his dedication and responsibility, Captain Do Hai Nam was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army for his achievements in participating in activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. The group of teachers trained in the parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, in which comrade Nam was a member who received a certificate of merit from the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army for his achievements in training.

Not only does he perform well as a parade instructor, Captain Do Hai Nam always strives to perform well in his duties at the unit.
