For over two months, Mr. Vi Van Tuan, Principal of Thanh Son Kindergarten (Pu Luong Commune, Thanh Hoa ), has regularly deducted his personal salary every week to pay for boarding meals and study expenses for 5-year-old Siu Long, who is in especially difficult circumstances.
In the 2025-2026 school year, Thanh Son Kindergarten has 130 students, most of whom are children of Thai and Muong ethnic groups. At the beginning of the school year, realizing that Siu Long had not registered for boarding meals and was often absent from school, Mr. Tuan took the initiative to find out about his situation.

Teacher Tuan shared: "Siu Long's parents broke up, and his father sent him and his younger brother to live with his grandparents so he could work far away. However, because his job was unstable, his father did not often send money home to support his children's education.
Seeing the child's pitiful situation, I asked the family to allow me to pay for the boarding school meals and other expenses so that the child could go to school.
Since receiving Siu Long's support, every week Mr. Tuan has deducted part of his salary to pay for his child's boarding meals.
"18,000 VND per day, 5 days a week for boarding, a total of about 360,000 VND per month. In addition, because Siu Long does not have a permanent residence in the locality, he is not eligible for support for boarding fees, so I have also deducted more than 1 million VND to pay on his behalf," said Mr. Tuan.
Thanks to this support, Siu Long has been attending school more regularly and no longer misses classes like before. Teacher Tuan expressed his happiness when seeing the boy playing and studying with his friends.

"As a teacher, I understand the difficulties and hardships of students and their families. The monthly amount is not much, but I hope he will be comforted, compensated in some way and be able to get along with his peers," said Mr. Tuan.
Previously, when working at another kindergarten, Mr. Tuan also adopted some students in similar circumstances.
"I adopt children because of my love for them. Some children, after many years of their families overcoming difficulties, their parents call and text to thank them. Some parents even bring me a bunch of vegetables and bamboo shoots when they meet me on the street. That alone makes me extremely happy," said Mr. Tuan.
Mr. Ha Van Pien (born 1972), Siu Long's grandfather, expressed his emotion when his grandson received support from the principal.

"Siu Long's father is only 26 years old this year. Many years ago, he went to work in the South and met and lived with a woman, but they did not get married. After the breakup, Siu Long and his younger brother were brought back to live with my wife and I by their father. Because of his unstable job, their father rarely sent money home.
We felt sorry for him but we didn't know what to do. When I saw that he was adopted by the principal, I was very happy. Thank you very much, Mr. Tuan, thanks to you, my child can go to school," Mr. Pien confided.
