The principal in Hanoi spent 100 billion VND to build a school for students in the highlands.

On the afternoon of February 21, teacher Nguyen Xuan Khang shared: "Building a school to give to a locality in the northern border area is a wish I have cherished for a long time and now I have had the opportunity to fulfill it. Perhaps this is the greatest souvenir I leave to future generations, before I leave."

Sharing about the construction roadmap, the Principal of Marie Curie School said that the locality is preparing land with suitable area to build construction items to ensure the scale of teaching services. After that, the school will prepare for investment, survey design and approve the project.

The period from 2025 to mid-2026 will be basically constructed and handed over in July 2026 so that the school can enroll students in the 2026-2027 school year with all funds invested by Marie Curie School, with an estimated cost of 100 billion.

After completion, the school was named Marie Curie - Meo Vac Ethnic Boarding School.

The design, construction, construction, inspection and acceptance are all undertaken by Marie Curie School. "After completion, I will hand it over to Meo Vac District to arrange funding to purchase equipment for the students' meals and accommodation. This will be a public school," Mr. Khang added.

Teacher Khang in particular and Marie Curie School in general have had a relationship with Meo Vac district since 2021 with the national project to plant one billion trees launched by the Prime Minister . The school has planted 20,000 Sa Moc trees in Khau Vai commune.

In 2022, Marie Curie School will continue to organize online English teaching for 2,600 third grade students, maintaining it until they finish primary school.

At the end of November 2023, to solve the shortage of English teachers in Meo Vac, Mr. Khang spent 6-12 billion VND to support 30 local students to study English at university. Each month, one student is supported with 5 million VND, lasting for 4 years. Currently, 17 students participate in the project. The District People's Committee will recruit 13 more people to train in the next school year.
