In early September 2025, we attended the scholarship award ceremony at the Hong Phong commune cultural house organized by the Provincial Red Cross Association. With a radiant face, Au Thi Quynh Chi, a 7th grade student at Minh Khai Secondary School, Hong Phong commune, said: My family is poor, the economy only depends on farming, so it is very difficult to take care of my two siblings' education. Understanding the hardships of my parents, I always try to study hard and have been an excellent student for many years. This school year, I was fortunate to receive attention from the Thien Tam Fund and receive a scholarship worth 1 million VND. This amount of money will help me have more conditions to buy school supplies, saving some expenses for my parents.
Quynh Chi is just one of 100 students in the province receiving scholarships from Thien Tam Fund - Vingroup Corporation at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year. Thien Tam Fund's scholarships also support poor but studious students. For example, Chu Quynh Nga, a final year student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, said: Since grade 8, she has been receiving scholarships from Vingroup Corporation under the Thien Tam Fund's support program. Up to now, she has received scholarships with tuition support of 7 - 8 million VND/semester, depending on the tuition fee of each semester. For her, it is not only a source of financial support to help reduce the burden on her family but also a great motivation for her to be more confident in the path of study she has chosen.
It is known that the scholarship program of Thien Tam Fund - Vingroup Corporation is a sponsorship program for excellent students with difficult circumstances, coordinated by the Lang Son Provincial Red Cross Association in the province since 2017. Depending on each level of study and family circumstances, Thien Tam Fund supports tuition and living expenses for students with levels ranging from 500,000 VND to 700,000 VND/month, with a special allowance for excellent students and students with especially difficult circumstances of 1 million VND/month. For students, tuition fees are paid no more than 20 million VND/year.
Up to now, after 8 years of implementation, the program has supported over 700 poor and excellent students in the province with a total support budget of over 3 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat, representative of Thien Tam Fund - Vingroup Corporation said: The scholarship program is implemented in many provinces and cities across the country with the goal of accompanying poor but studious students. In particular, we pay special attention to Lang Son because this is a mountainous area, people's lives are still difficult, especially for students in remote areas. We want to share the burden with families, creating conditions for them to continue to nurture their dreams of studying and excel in life.
In order to promptly award scholarships to students in difficult circumstances, right from the beginning of each school year, Thien Tam Fund coordinates with the provincial Red Cross Association to survey the actual circumstances of each family and the academic performance of each student to meet the program's criteria, thereby providing appropriate support options.
Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Trinh, Vice President in charge of the Provincial Red Cross Association, said: In the past time, the association has received companionship and support from many organizations and individuals in giving gifts and scholarships to poor but studious students. In particular, Thien Tam Fund - Vingroup Corporation is one of the typical units, always paying attention and providing practical and long-term support to the students. This is a great source of encouragement, helping students have more conditions to overcome difficulties, strive to excel in study and life.
