This morning, Nam Dinh Steel Blue surprised football fans when they announced the successful recruitment of South African winger Percy Muzi Tau. According to transfermartk's valuation, this 31-year-old star is worth 1 million euros. However, he has been a free agent since July this year after his contract with Qatar SC ended.

Details of the deal between Nam Dinh Blue Steel and Percy Tau were not disclosed, but the defending champions will certainly have to pay a lot to own this striker. Percy Tau is a big star of South African football and used to play in the Premier League with Brighton.

Percy Tau grew up at Mamelodi Sundowns before moving to Brighton in 2018 for 50 million South African Rand (equivalent to £2.7 million). To this day, Percy Tau still holds the record for the most expensive player sold in the South African top flight.

Due to not being able to obtain a work permit in England, Percy Tau played for the Belgian clubs Union SG, Club Brugge and Anderlecht on loan. At these clubs, Tau shone and made a good impression. In January 2021, he was recalled to Brighton after the administrative procedures were resolved. The striker made his Premier League debut in Brighton's 0-1 loss to Man City and ended the season with only 6 appearances in all competitions.

In the summer of 2021, Brighton sold Tau to Al Ahly for £1.5 million. At Al Ahly, Tau became a star, contributing greatly to the club winning 2 national championships, 2 national cups, 4 Egyptian Super Cups and 2 African Champions League titles. He also participated in 2 Club World Cups with Al Ahly in 2021 and 2023 and both won 3rd place.

At the national team level, Percy Tau debuted for the South African team in 2015, playing 52 matches and scoring 16 goals since then. At the time of joining Nam Dinh Blue Steel, Tau was still called up to the South African team.
