The match between the two teams at the top of the rankings took place at a rather slow pace in the early stages of the match. Both SHB Da Nang and Nam Dinh Steel entered the match cautiously due to the importance of the match.

After about 2/3 of the match, Nam Dinh Steel proactively increased the speed with the goal of finding the opening goal. However, the intention of the Southern team encountered the solid defense of the home team.

After 90 minutes of play without a goal, the two teams shared points in round 19. In the remaining match, Song Lam Nghe An drew 1-1 with Quang Nam.

After round 19, Nam Dinh Blue Steel continued to lead the table with 36 points but the gap was only 2 points over the second-placed team, Hanoi FC (34 points). The three teams at the bottom of the table were Song Lam Nghe An (19 points), Quy Nhon Binh Dinh (16 points) and SHB Da Nang (11 points).
