ABC News reported on May 23 that South Korean experts began a two-day inspection of the Fukushima nuclear power plant, related to a plan to discharge wastewater containing treated low-level radioactive substances from the plant into the sea.

According to the plan, 21 experts in fields such as radiation and nuclear reactors will share the test results with the South Korean people, amid concerns about the risk of this wastewater discharge to the ocean environment.
Test items include an advanced liquid treatment system that reduces radioactive material concentrations, except tritium, to regulatory safe levels, and water tanks.
