Hanoi candidates commented: The 10th grade entrance exam was suitable and close to the target

On June 7-8, more than 102,000 candidates in Hanoi took the Math, Literature and Foreign Language exams of the 2025-2026 public high school entrance exam for the 10th grade. In general, candidates commented that the exam questions for the 3 non-specialized subjects this year were within their ability, close to the training program and closely followed the training program.

Leaving Dong Thai Secondary School after finishing the Math exam, candidate Pham Nhu Loan (student of Alpha Secondary School, Cau Giay District) expressed her comfort at having completed the last non-specialized exam.

"This year's Math exam was quite suitable, the questions were not too difficult even for those who are inclined towards social sciences like me. I was able to do all 5 questions, of which I did the first 3 questions very quickly, but the last 2 questions took a bit more time," said Nhu Loan.

Looking back at all three exams of Math, Literature and Foreign Language, candidate Pham Nhu Loan commented that Math and Foreign Language are not too difficult exams. As long as you have a solid grasp of the basic knowledge, are willing to research some more advanced types of questions and do the exam carefully, you and your friends can achieve a good score or higher.

"With Literature, although the test questions are very easy to understand, even falling into one of the topics that I have narrowed down in advance, it probably won't be easy to get a high score," said Nhu Loan.

According to the candidates, answering the key points is not enough, but they should have a skillful and appropriate way of writing and expressing. In particular, they should pay attention to the context of the poem quoted in the Reading Comprehension section to better understand the meaning behind the sentences and words.

Sharing with reporters, Nhu Loan revealed that tomorrow, she will continue to take the specialized subject exam. "My first wish is to pass the Literature major at Chu Van An High School, Tay Ho District," Loan informed.

Sharing more specifically about the Math exam, candidate Nguyen Viet Long (student of Vinh Tuy Secondary School) said: "The algebra part is quite easy, especially for questions about first-degree equations. Meanwhile, the plane geometry part is quite difficult. I predict that I might lose 0.5 points in this part."

As for candidate Tran Gia Minh (student of Cau Giay Secondary School), the non-specialized subjects exam this year was quite easy. Many questions were asked in the exam very practically, close to students. This innovation in the way of making questions has made students more interested in doing the exam.

"For Math, I estimate that my test will score more than 8 points. The Foreign Language test is easier so I guess my score will be higher. Besides, the Literature test is also within my ability. Although not too difficult, the test for all three subjects has parts that can classify students' abilities," added candidate Tran Gia Minh.

It is known that Math is the last exam subject for non-specialized candidates. Candidates who register for specialized grade 10 will have an afternoon off before continuing to take the specialized exam on June 9.
