For elective subjects including: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Languages, each subject has 48 exam codes.
Candidates taking the first exam will take the test codes from 1 to 24, and candidates taking the second exam will take the test codes from 25 to 48. This is considered a solution to reduce cheating in multiple-choice exams, especially for elective exams with groups of candidates taking the first and second exams.

According to the candidates' comments, the exam questions for the elective subjects closely followed the new curriculum, mainly covering knowledge from grade 12. Of which, 40% of the questions were at the knowledge level, 30% at the comprehension level, and 30% at the application level. In the application section, the questions mainly used unfamiliar contexts that were not available in the textbooks.

In general, the test has a reasonable structure and level, and is not too different from the sample test announced by the Ministry of Education and Training . The test has good differentiation, creating conditions for assessing candidates' abilities in a real way. The most prominent point is the clear presence of practical questions in the application section.
To achieve high scores, students cannot learn by heart but must truly understand and apply knowledge flexibly and think to solve problems. This is consistent with the goal of developing comprehensive capacity of learners according to the new general education program.

In the subjects of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, candidates said that the knowledge in the exam was appropriate and did not make it difficult for students.
In English, candidates shared the same comments about the high level of differentiation, the long and difficult test, and the many new words. With the high requirements of the test but only 50 minutes to complete, many candidates had to give up in regret.
On the morning of the second exam day - the last exam day of the High School Graduation Exam for candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program, at 36 exam locations, the security and order situation at the exam sites continued to be maintained. 100% of candidates and staff on duty at the exam locations strictly followed the exam site rules and regulations. No staff or candidates violated the regulations.
At the exam sites, 36 youth volunteer teams actively supported candidates by providing drinking water, keeping personal belongings for candidates, and encouraging and cheering them on to confidently do well on the exam.
This afternoon, at 2:30 p.m., candidates for the 2006 General Education Program will continue to take the Foreign Language exam in the form of multiple choice questions, with a duration of 60 minutes. This is also the final exam to conclude the 2025 High School Graduation Exam.
