Senior students often write wishes and sign their names on their friends’ shirts as souvenirs. This is considered a gift to preserve precious memories for each student.
Before the 10th grade entrance exam, on forums, parents argued that children wearing shirts with signatures would not be allowed to take the exam.
Some parents cited a situation where students in Thai Binh province were wearing white shirts covered with signatures, and were asked to change their clothes when they arrived at the exam site. For fear of being late for the exam, some parents had to strip naked to give their shirts to the students so they could get on time.

Teachers advise students to wear school uniforms on exam days. |
Before important exams such as the 10th grade entrance exam and high school graduation exam, teachers often advise students to wear school uniforms to the exam. Students should not wear slippers or shorts.
Before the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi , a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the regulations do not “prohibit” candidates from wearing shirts with signatures. However, exam supervisors also need to carefully check whether those signatures are used to cheat on exams or not.
Parents say they should still remind their children to wear comfortable but neat and formal clothes to avoid unfortunate incidents that may occur.
In addition, to guard against unpredictable weather, some parents carefully prepare umbrellas and hats to protect against rain and sun.
In fact, in 2021, when the 10th grade entrance exam began, a sudden heavy rain fell. When arriving at the exam site, many candidates were covered with raincoats and umbrellas but still got wet. At some exam sites, young volunteers took the available school uniforms to give to candidates to ensure their health for the exam.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi will take place from June 7-9. Tomorrow morning, candidates will be present at the exam site to complete the exam registration procedures.
