Practical and affordable gifts become mainstream
The gift market in Hanoi on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20, 2025, has recorded a clear change in consumer trends. Instead of formal gifts, buyers prioritize choosing practical products with high usage value such as fruit baskets, cosmetics and homemade products. This shift takes place in the context of traditional items such as fresh flowers increasing in price significantly.
As early as November 18 and 19, the shopping atmosphere became bustling on major streets such as Cau Giay, Nguyen Chi Thanh, and Quang Trung area (Ha Dong). Online markets on social networking platforms and e-commerce platforms also recorded an explosion, bringing convenience to consumers in comparing prices and choosing products.

Fresh flowers increased in price by 15-20%
Fresh flowers are still a popular choice, but prices have increased by 15-20% this year compared to normal days. The reason is said to be due to the impact of unfavorable weather in major flower growing areas such as Da Lat. According to a flower shop owner in Ha Dong, bouquets available at the shop range from 300,000 to 500,000 VND. Large flower baskets for groups are also chosen by many people to save costs while still ensuring solemnity.

Besides fresh flowers, items such as wax flowers, handmade cards and small souvenirs with prices ranging from 20,000 to 150,000 VND still maintain their appeal thanks to reasonable costs and diverse designs.

Fruit baskets and personal care products are on the rise
The key market trend in 2025 will be the rise of fruit gift baskets and personal care products. Consumers are increasingly interested in gifts that are healthy and can be used immediately.
Ms. Vuong Thi Thanh, owner of an imported fruit store, said fruit baskets priced from 300,000 to 500,000 VND are the most popular. More expensive gift baskets, including imported fruits such as apples, grapes, and yellow pears, cost from 350,000 to 800,000 VND.

In addition, personal care products such as shower gel, lotion, shampoo or perfume priced from 150,000 - 1,000,000 VND are also best-selling items, meeting the need for a practical and long-lasting gift.

Personal touches from “homemade” gifts
A special highlight of this year’s gratitude season is the appearance of homemade gifts or products from the donor’s family. Ms. Luong (28 years old, Ninh Binh ) prepared a basket of eggs from her family’s farm for her child to give to her teachers. The gift, though simple, has great spiritual value, showing sincerity and respect.

This trend shows that consumers are increasingly valuing utility and sincerity over form. Other products such as homemade cakes, honey, herbal tea are also becoming meaningful gift options.
Reasons for the change
The shift to practical gifts stems from many factors. The economic climate causes consumers to tighten their spending, while the trend of minimalist living also affects shopping decisions. In addition, choosing delicate, not too expensive gifts helps avoid putting pressure on teachers. The development of the market for clean agricultural products and household products also facilitates the development of the trend of personalized gifts.
