People's Artist Thoại Miêu said the more she sings, the more she feels her spirit is filled with positive energy, because to her, Buddhism has extremely miraculous things.

Thoại Miêu spent the whole Buddha's birthday singing at the temple.

Artist Thoại Miêu happily told Tuổi Trẻ Online that for the past ten days, she has been performing at the pagoda every day. She said that since the April 30th celebration, when she was invited to join the group of outstanding artists participating in the parade, she was a bit worried about her health at the age of over 70.

"However, after going, I felt so much fun. I got to immerse myself in the bustling atmosphere of the city and meet my close fellow artists.

I practice every day, walk a few kilometers and come home feeling healthy without any pain or illness. Maybe it's because my good spirit gives me more motivation and makes me forget my age.

After the April 30th ceremony, the United Nations Vesak 2025 will be held for the first time in our city.

Every year during Buddha's birthday, pagodas also organize events, but this year is more special, so every pagoda organizes events on a larger scale, so whoever invites me, I try to participate because I feel happy and excited!" - artist Thoại Miêu confided.

She said that she had taken refuge at the temple so she considered herself a Buddhist. She boasted that recently she and her younger sister, artist Thoai My, were very good at chanting sutras.

"Not only do we sing for the art program at the temple, but my sister and I also love to join in chanting sutras with the monks.

The more I read the sutra, the more I love it. I read the whole book without feeling hoarse or tired at all. Because the more I read, the more interesting things I realize.

Buddhist philosophy helps me know how to live peacefully, especially when I am in my old age" - Thoai Mieu expressed.

Phuong Loan and Vo Minh Lam feel at peace when singing at the temple.

Since the beginning of the season, People's Artist Phuong Loan has sung at more than ten temples, some days she sings at 2 or 3 temples and the performance schedule will last until the end of the season.

She said she is a Buddhist, so no matter how busy she is, she always arranges to participate in Buddhist cultural programs. For her, it is her duty.

"I don't go to the temple to do volunteer work like other brothers and sisters, such as cooking and taking care of the plants at the temple, so I contribute a little bit with my singing voice" - Phuong Loan shared.

She added that the monks had told her that sometimes when they sat and talked for hours to discuss Buddhism with people, people did not have time to absorb it, but through songs and excerpts from reformed opera, people seemed to understand and feel it faster.

Therefore, when performing ancient songs or excerpts about Buddhism, Phuong Loan is aware that she must be careful in each lyric and each line to convey to the audience the most accurate and effective true philosophies of Buddhism.

"When singing at temples, no one asks for anything from the artists. We sing with all our hearts and with respect.

There is no superstition here, but we exchange humane stories and awakenings that make human life better" - Phuong Loan emphasized.

Young artist Vo Minh Lam has just returned from a trip to sing at a pagoda in Nam Dinh and hastily joined young artists Trong Nhan and Quach Phu Thanh to record the ancient song "Dao trong tim " (composed by Lam Huu Tang) in time for release during Buddha's birthday.

Vo Minh Lam said that every time he sings at the temple, he always feels pure and peaceful.

He told Tuoi Tre Online: "The ancient songs and Buddhist excerpts not only have good religious and life-enhancing meanings, but for me personally, the more I sing and learn, the more I feel like I am cultivating myself every day.

After many ups and downs, in the end, what I desire most is peace, peace for myself, my family and everyone. And I found those moments when I calmed my mind with songs during the Buddha's birthday season."

To celebrate Buddha's birthday 2025, artist Ngoc Huyen organized the program Huong Duc Hanh , broadcast on her personal YouTube channel at 7:00 p.m. on May 9.

In addition to Ngoc Huyen, the program also has the participation of artists Kim Tu Long, Binh Tinh, Hoa Hiep, Ba Thang, Duong Dinh Tri, Thy Nhung, Le Hau...
