The parade on Red Square will begin at 10:00 a.m. on May 9, local time (2:00 p.m. on May 9, Vietnam time) and is expected to last for 2 hours.
The parade will be broadcast on Russia's largest television channels, including Channel One, Russia 1 and Zvezda. The broadcast can also be viewed online. In addition, the parade will be shown on large screens in the center and districts of Moscow.
Parade Program
Traditionally, the program of the Parade on Red Square will include: the procession of the Russian flag and the Victory Banner to Red Square; President Vladimir Putin's speech; a minute of silence in memory of the soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War; the forces participating in the parade and a spectacular display of modern ground combat vehicles, which are in the service of the Russian Army. If the weather conditions are favorable, the Russian Aerospace Forces will perform on Red Square.
Foreign guests
Mr. Yuri Ushakov, Assistant to the President of Russia, said that Russia has invited leaders from 29 countries to attend this event. Among the leaders attending the parade is General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam. In addition, the guest list also includes General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, President of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro, President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi... The leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia, Zimbabwe, Congo, Cuba, Laos, Mongolia, Serbia, Slovakia, Ethiopia... also received invitations to attend the parade in Moscow.
According to Mr. Ushakov, what is special this year is that in addition to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, veterans from a number of countries, including the United States and Israel, will also be present at the Parade on Red Square.
Forces participating in the parade
The parade on Red Square included Russian servicemen as well as military personnel from countries with friendly relations with Russia. The list of 13 foreign military delegations participating in this important event included the Vietnam People's Army. The Russian parade included cadets from the Suvorov and Nakhimov military schools, young servicemen, female units and representatives of various units carrying flags, battle emblems and weapons.
Route of the forces participating in the parade
According to the regulations, the parade participants will start their march from Nizhnie Mnevniki Street. From there, they will move along Zvenigorodskoe Highway to Barrikadnaya Station. Then along Triumfalnaya Square and Tverskaya Street through Manezhnaya Square to Red Square. During the parade, people can stand along the route of military vehicles. However, they will not be able to park near the Kremlin or get off at the nearest metro station. Before and after the parade, some squares and metro stations will be closed. Some streets will also be closed to traffic.
In total, more than 10,000 people will take part in this year's parade - an event that not only commemorates the victory, but also demonstrates Russia's strength and unity.
At the invitation of the Russian Ministry of Defense , this is also the first time the Vietnam People's Army delegation has participated in a parade abroad. The delegation consists of 86 soldiers, including officers, students, and professional soldiers of the Army Officer School 1 and a number of agencies, units, and representatives of officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army. The Vietnamese delegation also attended joint training and preliminary rehearsals on April 29 and May 3.
