(PLVN) - The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that on the day and night of June 17, thunderstorms will cover the North, Central Highlands and the South, while the Central region will remain hot.

The Hydrometeorological Agency forecasts that on the day and night of June 17, the Northern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 15-30mm, locally over 60mm (rain concentrated in the evening and at night).

In addition, during the day and night of June 17, the Central Highlands and the South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 10-30mm, locally over 50mm (rain concentrated in the late afternoon and evening).

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain may cause flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes, and inundation in low-lying areas.

Regarding the hot weather, on June 17-18, the area from Nghe An to Phu Yen will be hot, some places will be extremely hot with the highest temperature of 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places will be over 37 degrees Celsius, the lowest relative humidity will be at 55-60%.

Warning: From around June 20, the heat in the Central region is likely to ease.

Thanh Hoa - Hue

Cloudy, hot during the day, sometimes very hot, showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night. Southwest wind level 2-3. Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 26-29 degrees Celsius.

Highest temperature: 34-37 degrees Celsius, some places above 37 degrees Celsius.

Da Nang - Binh Thuan

Cloudy, sunny during the day, especially in the North where it is hot, with showers and thunderstorms in some places in the afternoon and evening. Southwest wind level 2-3. During thunderstorms there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Central Highlands
