Weather on June 3: Heat wave in the North ends, heavy rain in mountainous areas

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 3, the heat wave in the North will end.

Northern mountainous areas have scattered showers and thunderstorms, heavy rain in some places, and risk of flash floods.

Meanwhile, the area from Nghe An to Binh Thuan continues to suffer from hot weather, with some places experiencing intense sunlight and high temperatures.

On the morning of June 3, the provinces of Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan and Lang Son continued to have rain with accumulated rainfall ranging from 20-40mm, in some places over 70mm.

Binh Thuan province has rain from 10-20mm, some places over 40mm.

Risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in many districts such as Bac Me, Bac Quang, Dong Van, Hoang Su Phi, Meo Vac, Quan Ba, Quang Binh, Ha Giang city, Vi Xuyen, Yen Minh (Ha Giang); Lam Binh, Na Hang, Chiem Hoa (Tuyen Quang); Bao Lac, Bao Lam, Ha Quang, Hoa An, Nguyen Binh, Thach An ( Cao Bang ); Ba Be, Cho Don, Ngan Son, Pac Nam (Bac Kan); Bac Son, Binh Gia, Cao Loc, Chi Lang, Dinh Lap, Loc Binh, Lang Son city, Van Lang, Van Quan (Lang Son); Ham Tan, Ham Thuan Bac, Ham Thuan Nam, Tanh Linh, Phan Thiet city, La Gi town (Binh Thuan).

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns that flash floods and landslides can have very negative impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives; cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles; destroy civil and economic works, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.

In the afternoon and night of June 3, in the Northwest region, the plains, midlands of the North and the North Central region, there will be showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 15-30mm, locally over 80mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain (over 80mm/3 hours).

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.

Meanwhile, the area from Nghe An to Binh Thuan has hot and extremely hot weather with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-38 degrees Celsius, in some places above 38 degrees Celsius. The lowest relative humidity commonly ranges from 50-55%.
