According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather in regions across the country on August 8 will be clearly differentiated, with intense heat in many places and scattered thunderstorms in other areas. In particular, at sea, a low pressure area is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression, affecting shipping activities.

In the Northwest region, in the early morning, late afternoon and tonight, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain, with rainfall ranging from 10 - 30mm, with some places over 60mm. Meanwhile, in the late afternoon and evening of the same day, the Central Highlands and the South will also record scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places likely to have heavy rain ranging from 15 - 30mm, with some places over 70mm.

Thunderstorms are forecast to bring dangerous weather phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds. Localized heavy rains can cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in steep mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas.

Meanwhile, the Northern Delta region and the southern part of Phu Tho province continue to experience heat waves, with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35 - 36 degrees Celsius, some places above 36 degrees Celsius. The lowest humidity during the day ranges from 60 - 65%, and the heat waves last from 12 - 16 hours.

On August 9, the heat wave will spread to the entire North (except Lai Chau and Dien Bien), with temperatures ranging from 35 - 37 degrees Celsius, and the lowest humidity of 55 - 60%. Meanwhile, from August 8 - 9, the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang , the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa will also continue to have heat waves, with some places experiencing severe heat waves with the highest temperature above 38 degrees Celsius. The duration of the heat wave will be from 10 - 17 hours.

The heat wave in the North is forecast to last until August 10, while in the Central and South Central regions it may last until August 11.

At sea, a low pressure area is currently appearing in the eastern sea area of the North East Sea. At 1:00 a.m. on August 8, the center of the low pressure area was at about 18.5 - 19.5 degrees North latitude; 117.5 - 118.5 degrees East longitude. In the next 24 hours, the low pressure area tends to move slowly to the West and is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression.

The northeastern sea area and the middle of the East Sea have strong winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7-8; waves from 1.5-2.5m high, rough seas. During thunderstorms, there is a high risk of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind, affecting the activities of fishing boats and maritime transport.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting recommends that people and fishermen regularly update weather information to proactively take preventive measures and minimize damage caused by natural disasters.

The highest temperature in the North is 35-37 degrees Celsius, with some places above 37 degrees Celsius; in the South is 32-35 degrees Celsius, with some places above 35 degrees Celsius.
