Weather on November 1: Widespread heavy rain in the Central region, cold in the North and some places

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on November 1, the northern provinces, Thanh Hoa and northern Nghe An will have rain in many places, cold weather, especially in mountainous areas. The low temperature makes the whole area feel cold, especially in the early morning and at night.

The area from South Nghe An to Quang Ngai is experiencing heavy to very heavy rain, in which South Nghe An and Quang Ngai have many spots of extremely heavy rain, accompanied by strong thunderstorms. Early this morning, rainfall recorded in some places exceeded 90mm such as Ha Tinh station (Ha Tinh), Lam Thuy (Quang Tri) and Nghia Trung (Quang Ngai). The provinces from Ha Tinh to the East of Quang Ngai are the epicenter of heavy rain in the country.

It is forecasted that in the next 24-48 hours, the area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang City and the East of Quang Ngai will continue to have very heavy rain, with total rainfall ranging from 200-450mm, in some places exceeding 700mm. Southern Nghe An and the West of Quang Ngai will have heavy rain of 100-250mm, locally over 350mm. The intensity of heavy rain can exceed 150mm in just 3 hours, posing a high risk of flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas and industrial parks, flash floods, and landslides in mountainous areas. It is forecasted that heavy rain in the Central region will likely last until around the night of November 4.

In the Central Highlands and the South, during the day and night of November 1, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with rainfall of 10-30mm, and locally over 70mm. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

At sea, the tropical convergence zone is strongly active connecting with the low pressure area at about 11.5-12.5 degrees North latitude; 116.5-117.5 degrees East longitude. Due to the influence of this system, the sea area from South Quang Tri to Quang Ngai, the Gulf of Thailand and the central East Sea area will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. The Gulf of Tonkin has strong northeast winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7.

During the day and night of November 1, the North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa sea area) will have strong northeast winds of level 6, gusts of level 7-8, waves 2-4m high; the sea area from South Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will have northeast winds of level 5-6, gusts of level 7-8, waves 1.5-3m high, rough seas. In addition, in the South of Bac Bo Gulf and the East Sea area (including Hoang Sa and Truong Sa sea areas), there will be scattered thunderstorms, with the possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of level 6-7.

Hanoi capital is cloudy, rainy. Northeast wind level 2-3. Cold. Lowest temperature 19-21 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature 21-23 degrees Celsius.

The Northwestern provinces have rain. Light wind. Cold weather, some places are freezing. Lowest temperature 18-21 degrees Celsius, some places below 17 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature 23-26 degrees Celsius, some places above 26 degrees Celsius.

The Northeast region is cloudy and rainy. Northeast wind level 2-3, coastal areas level 3. Cold weather, some mountainous areas are cold. Lowest temperature 18-21 degrees Celsius, some mountainous areas below 17 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature 21-24 degrees Celsius.

Provinces from Thanh Hoa to Hue are cloudy with heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms. North to northwest wind level 2-3. In the North, it is cold. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. Lowest temperature 20-23 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature 23-26 degrees Celsius, some places above 26 degrees Celsius.

South Central Coast region: Northern part is cloudy with heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms. Southern part is cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain. East to northeast wind level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. Lowest temperature 22-25 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature in the North 26-29 degrees Celsius; South 29-31 degrees Celsius.

The Central Highlands is cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some heavy rain in some places. Light wind. Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Lowest temperature 17-20 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature 26-29 degrees Celsius.

The South is cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some heavy rain in some places. West to southwest winds at level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Lowest temperature 23-26 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature 30-33 degrees Celsius.

Ho Chi Minh City is cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some heavy rain in some places. West to southwest winds at level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Lowest temperature 24-26 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature 30-32 degrees Celsius.
