New information about the case of a man molesting a girl on the Metro train

On August 15, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Metro operator confirmed that an incident in which a man was accused of sexually harassing a woman occurred on August 14. The Mobile Police and security forces of Ben Thanh Station coordinated to intervene promptly.

Previously, on August 14, Ben Thanh Ward Police, Ho Chi Minh City worked with relevant people to clarify a girl's accusation against a man who had "perverted behavior" while riding the Metro train.

The man mentioned above is LPVC (born in 1990). According to initial information, early in the afternoon of the same day on Metro Line 1 (from the old Binh Thanh District to the center of Ho Chi Minh City), Ms. P. was sitting when C. came and sat nearby. At this time, C. was carrying a backpack in front of her chest, wearing a black jacket, and a mask covering her face.

The image of the man sexually harassing a woman was recorded and posted online.

As soon as the man started harassing her, the girl immediately reacted but he did not stop. The girl then took more drastic actions to fight back.

When the train stopped, the man ran into the men's restroom at the train station to hide, but was subdued by the police and train station security, who also brought C. and Ms. P. along with several witnesses in to take their statements.

It is worth mentioning that on the evening of August 14, the incident was spread on social media. It is known that the person who posted the information was a girl who said that she was also molested by C. while riding the Metro train. So when she met him again and saw C. doing things with another girl, she filmed and took pictures of the incident.

The man accused of molesting a girl on Metro Line 1 was detained.

"I met the guy who molested me on the Metro before, but this time he did it to another girl. The trick was the same, hiding his hand under her bag and jacket and then reaching up to her thigh to touch her. He did the same thing to me," the poster said.

A representative of Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC1 - the operating unit) confirmed to the press that the incident occurred as mentioned above.

"We have always coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City Police to ensure security and order at the Metro station, ensuring passenger safety," said the representative.
