Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Nga, President of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Can Tho City, awarded a Certificate of Gratitude for the golden heart in the emulation movement for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.
Implementing the emulation movement for victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, the Association at all levels coordinated with the departments, branches and organizations of the district to mobilize nearly 6 billion VND to take care of 9,560 victims and their families (an average of over 25 victims/victim), build new and repair 15 houses, support 121 red addresses, give 92 scholarships, support interest-free capital for 31 families, give 23 wheelchairs, rocking chairs, 6 bicycles; organize medical examinations and health consultations for over 210 victims. In addition, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Thot Not district also built and maintained 5 models of "Community Health Team" and "Vulnerable Youth" in the wards; organized medical examinations, health consultations, and visited 115 victims, with a total amount of nearly 40 million VND.
During the past half term, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Thot Not District achieved and exceeded the targets set out in the Resolution. Most notably, the work of advising and coordinating with the District Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee to organize a survey on the implementation of Directive No. 43-CT/TW of the Central Party Secretariat, 11th tenure, on strengthening leadership in dealing with the consequences of toxic chemicals used by the US during the war in Vietnam.
On this occasion, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Can Tho City awarded Certificates of Gratitude for their Golden Heart to 2 individuals and 10 certificates of merit to outstanding members and victims; the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thot Not District commended 5 collectives and 8 individuals with good achievements in the emulation movement for the period 2021-2025.
After the conference, Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Nga, President of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange in Can Tho City, led the delegation to visit, encourage and present an electric wheelchair to Ms. Nguyen Thi Huynh Nhu, 48 years old, in Qui Thanh 1 area, Trung Kien ward, Thot Not district. The wheelchair is worth about 10 million VND, taken from the Association of Victims of Agent Orange fund.
