Land acquisition, stop construction of Khanh Hoa University near cemetery, far from city center

Before the decision to reclaim land from Khanh Hoa University, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province had decided to stop implementing the feasibility study report for the construction project in the direction of establishing the school more than 10 years ago.

According to the decision, the entire recovered land area of ​​more than ^96,362m2 of Khanh Hoa University (in Van Dang 2 village, Vinh Luong commune, Nha Trang city) was assigned by the province to the People's Committee of Nha Trang city to be responsible for assigning the People's Committee of Vinh Luong commune to manage according to regulations.

The land that was just recovered was originally assigned by Khanh Hoa province to Nha Trang Pedagogical College since October 2014, to carry out a construction project in the direction of establishing Khanh Hoa University. This land is more than 10km from Nha Trang city center, near the northern cemetery and Ru Ri Pass landfill.

Along with the land allocation to implement the above project, Khanh Hoa province also decided to reclaim the entire land of Nha Trang Pedagogical College, located right in the center of Nha Trang city by the sea (at No. 1 Nguyen Chanh Street) and assign it to the enterprise to implement the Dewan project.

After the press reported and public opinion disagreed, Khanh Hoa province decided to terminate the investment in the Dewan project and revoke the decision to hand over land in area 1 Nguyen Chanh to Dewan.

The implementation of the feasibility study report for the investment project with the orientation of building Khanh Hoa University "near the cemetery, far from the center of Nha Trang city" as mentioned above also stopped from then until the Provincial People's Committee decided to terminate it (January 2025).

Policy to build additional campus of Khanh Hoa University in Dien Khanh

On the evening of April 18, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan said that along with the decision to terminate the feasibility study report on the investment project to build Khanh Hoa University in Vinh Luong commune, the province has also recently invested in the school to carry out the project of repairing, renovating and upgrading infrastructure at area No. 1 Nguyen Chanh, Nha Trang city.

In addition to the above facilities, Khanh Hoa also has a policy to consider adjusting the planning and allocating land for the school to build new facilities in the areas of Dien An and Dien Toan communes, Dien Khanh district.
