Accordingly, Ngo Thu Ha has just passed the residency program at Hanoi Medical University with the top 14. This is an exam that is considered very difficult and fierce in the medical industry.

Next September, Ngo Thu Ha will be the only student out of more than 1,000 graduates of this course from Hanoi Medical University to be honored as the valedictorian of Hanoi in 2025 at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam.

Previously, Ha graduated from Medicine with a GPA of 8.42/10, with a doctoral degree of excellence.

During her studies, Thu Ha received 8/12 scholarships to encourage learning at Hanoi Medical University, 5 business scholarships, and was a member of the school's study club.

The "super rare" thing is that this female student was both the valedictorian of the university entrance exam 6 years ago and the valedictorian of Hanoi Medical University.

Ms. Dao Thi Ngoan, the homeroom teacher, commented that Thu Ha is a truly excellent student, outstanding in every aspect. She is a very rare student who both studies well in her major and has high training scores.

This female student was both the top student in her entrance exam and the top student in her graduation exam. She also participated in many volunteer activities, joined the school's study club, and won scholarships to support several charity funds.

“I think you were born to be a medical professional, because both your body and mind are commendable. In addition to your excellent academic qualities to perfect your career, your concern for others when sharing your scholarship with some humanitarian funds brings a warm feeling to everyone,” said Ms. Ngoan.

As Dan Tri reported earlier, in the 2019 high school graduation exam, Ngo Thu Ha, a 12th grade student majoring in Mathematics at Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted - Phu Tho (old) was the valedictorian of block B00.

With the dream of becoming a general practitioner, Ha spent a lot of time and effort studying 3 subjects: math - chemistry - biology.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Ha said that for medical students, being able to become a resident doctor is probably the highest dream, studying with the best people. Therefore, she is quite pressured and worried.

“I think that is the path that every doctor, whether they want to or not, must try to overcome if they want to become a resident physician, so there is no other way but to try to study hard to achieve the goal,” Ha said.

According to the leaders of Hanoi Medical University, the history of training resident physicians in Vietnam started at this school in 1974, and has now been 50 years.

Having to go through a very rigorous entrance exam, the learning process and output are both very demanding, so each course only selects a very few resident doctors.

Currently, Hanoi Medical University is the largest training institution for resident physicians in the country, accounting for 41% of the total number of resident physicians nationwide. In 50 years, the University has trained more than 5,000 resident physicians.

In the first 40 years, Hanoi Medical University trained about 17,000 students and 1,770 residents, meaning only 10% of doctors were trained as residents.
