On the afternoon of November 18, U22 Vietnam lost 0-1 to U22 Korea in the final match of the 2025 Panda Cup in China. This result caused coach Dinh Hong Vinh and his team to miss the chance to win the championship.
Not only did they lose, U22 Vietnam also received bad news from Nguyen Van Truong's injury. In the 70th minute, the captain of U22 Vietnam landed badly after a ball dispute with a U22 Korean player.
He was lying on the field in pain and needed medical attention. However, Van Truong could not continue playing and was forced to leave the field on a stretcher.

Because coach Dinh Hong Vinh had no more substitutions, U22 Vietnam had to play with 10 players on the field. This was also one of the reasons why U22 Vietnam could not equalize and had to accept a 0-1 loss.
After the match, Van Truong's pain did not improve. U22 Vietnam doctors took him to a hospital in Sichuan (China) for examination.
VFF Vice President and Head of Vietnam U22 Delegation - Mr. Tran Anh Tu said that Van Truong suffered a knee injury, the specific result has not yet been announced.
In case Van Truong is seriously injured, this will be a big loss for U22 Vietnam as SEA Games 33 is approaching.
As planned, on the morning of November 19, U22 Vietnam returned home and continued training in Ho Chi Minh City before leaving for Thailand to attend the 33rd SEA Games on December 2.
