Accordingly, the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies of key national projects and major projects commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) were held under the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, in the form of direct and online simultaneous broadcasts in all three regions of the North - Central - South, connecting online from the main bridge point of Ho Chi Minh City to all projects.
The Ministry of Construction - the leading agency - said that according to the synthesis of reports from ministries, branches and localities, there were 80 projects that were started and inaugurated on this occasion, with a total investment capital of more than 445,000 billion VND. Of which, the total capital for starting construction was about 305,000 billion VND, the total capital for inaugurated projects was 140,000 billion VND. The state budget spent 185,000 billion VND, while non-budget capital was 260,000 billion VND.
Also according to the Ministry of Construction, there are 40 projects in the transport sector, 12 industrial and civil construction projects, 12 educational projects, 9 socio-cultural projects, 5 community health projects and 2 irrigation projects.
Ho Chi Minh City is the main bridge with the participation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. At this bridge, 6 works and projects were inaugurated and started, including the inauguration of Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat International Airport and the road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan Street - Cong Hoa Street; the technical opening of Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway; the inauguration of Hoc Mon General Hospital; the groundbreaking of the sea encroachment item of the Can Gio sea encroachment urban tourism project, Can Gio district; the groundbreaking of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2 project (package of technical infrastructure relocation and bomb and mine clearance).
"In the joyful atmosphere of the whole country on this historic holiday, the Government organizes online groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies simultaneously in the three regions of the North, Central and South for important works, projects and major projects to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification," Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said in the Official Dispatch on April 7.
This year is of special importance to Vietnam because it is the year of acceleration and breakthrough to the finish line to implement the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2025, striving to achieve GDP growth of 8% or more, creating momentum to achieve double-digit growth in the coming years.
Besides, this year is also the year of many important events of the country such as the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Party, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, the reunification of the country, the 135th anniversary of the birth of the great President Ho Chi Minh, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country and the year of holding Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress.
