Prime Minister recognizes Duc Tho as an advanced NTM district, Huong Khe as a NTM district

(Baohatinh.vn) - The Prime Minister has just signed decisions recognizing a number of district-level localities in Ha Tinh as meeting new rural standards.

On June 13, the Prime Minister signed and issued Decisions No. 1140/QD-TTg dated June 13, 2025 on recognizing Huong Khe district, Ha Tinh province, as meeting the NTM standards in 2024; No. 1141/QD-TTg dated June 13, 2025 on recognizing Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province, as meeting the advanced NTM standards in 2024. The decisions take effect from June 13.

The Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province to be responsible for announcing and rewarding according to regulations; directing localities to continue to maintain and improve the quality of criteria, focusing on economic and environmental criteria to ensure sustainability in building new rural areas.

After 14 years of implementation (2011-2024), with the efforts of the entire political system, the participation of the people; budget support from the Central, the province, and sectors, Huong Khe has met the standards of the district-level NTM criteria.

Currently, 20/20 communes have met the new rural standards; of which 2 communes have met the advanced new rural standards; 1 commune has met the model new rural standards; 135 model new rural residential areas, 1,498 model gardens; Huong Khe town has met the civilized urban standards; the district level has completed 9/9 new rural criteria.

After 14 years of efforts and endeavors of the entire political system, the participation of the people; budget support from the Central, the province, and the sectors, Huong Khe has met the standards of the district-level new-style rural area criteria.

Huong Khe is the last district in Ha Tinh to meet the standards of a new rural district. As a disadvantaged locality, Huong Khe has received support and sponsorship from 69 agencies, units and businesses in the province with a total support fund worth nearly 35 billion VND.

Duc Tho is a land of “spiritual land and talented people”, rich in historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions. The district identifies the construction of new rural areas as a central, continuous, regular and continuous task, with a starting point but no ending point.

Immediately after being recognized by the Prime Minister as a district meeting the NTM standards in 2020, Duc Tho continued to direct synchronous solutions to improve the quality of NTM criteria, and at the same time organize the implementation of meeting the standards of advanced NTM districts according to regulations.

In the process of building the district to meet advanced NTM standards, Duc Tho has made a breakthrough in the industrial and handicraft sectors. In 2024, the proportion of industry - handicraft - trade - services and construction accounted for 82.5%, an increase of nearly 30%. The total production value in 2024 reached nearly 12 trillion VND. The average income per capita in 2024 reached 58.54 million VND. The district maintained 9/9 NTM district standards, completing 9/9 advanced NTM district criteria.

During the process of building an advanced new-style rural district, Duc Tho mobilized nearly 5,000 billion VND, of which the people contributed and supported over 1,000 billion VND.
