Prime Minister conducts field survey, removes biggest bottlenecks in Tra Vinh's dynamic economic zone

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the working delegation conducted a field survey at Dinh An Economic Zone, Tra Vinh province.

Dinh An Economic Zone is located in the Southeast of Tra Vinh province, bordering the sea and Hau river, belonging to Tra Cu and Duyen Hai districts. The natural area is 39,020 ha, phase 1 implementation to 2020 is 15,403.7 ha.

According to the Tra Vinh Provincial Planning to 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister , the province will develop Dinh An Economic Zone into a dynamic economic zone of the province and the Mekong Delta region with a multi-sector, multi-field nature.

According to Tra Vinh province, Dinh An Economic Zone has many advantages, such as a 42 km sea frontage, a deep-water port and a shipping channel through Tra Vinh canal, located on inter-regional traffic hubs, such as National Highway 53, National Highway 54, National Highway 60, coastal roads... Duyen Hai Power Center with a capacity of 4,400 MW is a stable power source.

The Management Board of Tra Vinh Economic Zone is ready to create all favorable conditions for investors in Dinh An Economic Zone. In addition to the highest incentives according to the provisions of Vietnamese law on land, taxes, etc., the province also implements many policies to support investors, such as investing in essential infrastructure works; supporting labor training, etc. In particular, investment procedures in Dinh An Economic Zone are carried out according to the "One-stop, one-stop" mechanism and the Management Board of the Economic Zone is the focal agency to resolve.

However, according to information from the survey, Dinh An Economic Zone also faces many difficulties and challenges. According to Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, the challenge that needs to be solved is connecting strategic transport infrastructure between Tra Vinh and neighboring provinces, such as Soc Trang, Ben Tre and the region.

The Prime Minister said that the big problem for Tra Vinh and Dinh An Economic Zone is to study the planning and investment in building large bridges connecting the coastal route and deep-water seaport for Tra Vinh... to ensure the most optimal and effective results. In addition to Dai Ngai bridge connecting Tra Vinh-Soc Trang which has just started construction, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Transport to coordinate with agencies and localities to study the construction of Co Chien 2 bridge connecting Tra Vinh-Ben Tre.

The Prime Minister requested the province to focus resources, increase revenue and save expenditure, and work with the Central Government to implement these projects in the most appropriate investment form with the highest determination. When completed, the projects will create a breakthrough in attracting investment to this area, especially Dinh An Economic Zone.
